it's a perfect hobby

You can legit make anything you set your mind to, I went from fixing sub-frames to building a chasis to turbo set ups, and everything in between

Even getting into hydraulics

What would you recommend for someone that has never done it? As far as what set up (relatively cheap, but still effective for basic welding or practice :D )

I think you said you were a lineman?

So you should have np with power, which a crazy number of people do 🙄

It depends on wat you want to weld

I have a nearly full bottle of argon gas mix and a broken mig welder for you. Free to pick up.

/for your purposes that'd be what you want, fyi

A Lincoln wire feed is pretty much the ol' reliable, they generally get better the newer they are, but there are some older ones that are indestructible

But if you don't want to deal with gas etc, sticks are still my favorite steel application, you can even use batteries and jumper cables to weld with them

Soft metals are my favorite to weld, it's very artistic

Ah okay, I'll have to start looking into it more seriously. I think it'd be a really useful skill to know, I had to have my buddy weld D-Rings on my flat bed trailer cause I dont have the means/knowledge to do it haha

New computer 80% set up

My shop station won't get any use for another 2 months, unless I get more vinyl orders, which is 50/50

Isn't the new ryzen rumored to have 16 cores? Why not wait a few months and have pretty much a mid range server processor instead of buying now? Especially with what it looks like your doing. Could have 4 dedicated cores for your dyno and stI'll have 12 left over.

I mean unless you grabbed the i9

Hell yeah, that's a super easy job, unless there was some complication

I learned by building my own car trailer, it was much easier than I expected, once I realized my imagination was the limit
