Old metallica is great, don't care for their post 80's stuff though. Not into slipknot or trivium (though trivium has a side project band that is great called Capharnaum).
Earth wind and fire is decent though theyre pretty mainstream and there is way better soul/funk out there. Otis Redding is great (vocal) soul music for older stuff. Guys like Herbie Hancock & Miles Davis has some great funk stuff in the 70s. As for newer stuff, i won't get into cuz i could go on and on lol.
