When it was my turn, I asked to register as an independent. The lady told me that I had to choose a party, Dem or Rep... I was like, no bitch, I want to register as an independent. She started to lecture me about how important it was to be politically affiliated, so I just walked away mid-talk and got back in line to go to someone else. They did the same thing.

Being a punk ass highschooler with nothing else to do, I made a huge scene and said that I was being denied my constitutional right to vote (I had just taken a civics class so all of the terms were fresh in my mind).

Don't really remember what happened, but I'm a registered voter as an independent today.

Kind of blows my mind how people blindly vote because of red or blue.

/e I think this is also why I've never been selected for jury duty. Although I have no clue.

I've still never been summoned and honestly, it pisses me off. I'd love to sit on a jury for an interesting case. Worked in the legal field for awhile, just Social Security, but I've always been fascinated with the law and I think being on a jury could be fun, plus if it's complicated, it'll give me a chance to argue with strangers about fun shit.
