You don't disagree with a wall? Really? I think it's fucking retarded.

I think it's a waste of $ but it wouldn't be the biggest waste of $, not even close, the "tax scam" added about $1 trillion ($1 trillion dwarfs $5 billion) to the national debt. wages aren't up (if they are it's so negligible that even the G.O.P. didn't run on it;s success this November) and all that $ just went to the richest of the rich and big corporations who just bought back a bunch of their stocks and gave their CEO's/big wigs pay raises. national debt i think is up $2 trillion since trump has been in office.

He's actually about the same or a little less than Obama in his first 2 years.

Obama:
FY 2011 - $1.229 trillion.
FY 2010 - $1.652 trillion.

Trump:
FY 2019 - $1.225 trillion.
FY 2018 - $1.233 trillion.

Shhhhhhh. They don't like to talk about that because Obama had to take over for such a bad president.

well some of that is true. Incoming administrations have to use the budget from the last years administration until October of their first year. For example, President Bush took office in January 2001. He submitted his first budget in February, but that covered Fiscal Year 2002, which didn't begin until October 1. For the first nine months of his new term, Bush had to live with President Clinton's last budget. Obama added $8.588 trillion, a 74-percent increase from the $11.657 trillion debt at the end of Bush’s last budget, FY 2009. As projected in the FY 2019 budget, Trump plans to add $4.775 trillion, a 29-percent increase from the $20.245 trillion debt at the end of Obama's last budget for FY 2017.

The US national debt stood at $21.974 trillion at the end of 2018, more than $2 trillion higher than when President Donald Trump took office, according to numbers released Thursday by the Treasury Department.

The debt began to level off at the beginning of Trump's term, but bounced up again last year as the tax cuts passed at the end of 2017 took effect and the dramatically lower corporate tax rate lowered Treasury revenues.

According to the Congressional Budget Office, total public debt stood at 78% of America's gross domestic product in fiscal year 2018, the highest percentage since 1950.

those numbers are from the Treasury Dept. so good luck calling "fake news" on that.

I mean yes, $2.4 trillion > $2 trillion if you want to get cute. I just wanted to see where he got the numbers (for the Obama part), not saying he's wrong at all, I just want to read the source where he got the numbers from...

keep up the personal attacks though, they are amusing, I also love how the apologists can't help but bring up Obama or Hillary during a Trump topic lol.

I'm not calling it fake news, I'm not a Trump fan either, but it's not like he's doing anything different than the rest of them did is my point. The way any US government, democrat or republican led, spends tax money is stupid, period. We give more in foreign aid to 3 countries than what this stupid wall costs and they could be using it on helping our homeless and veterans and infrastructure here that desperately need it. Every single budget has tons of wasteful spending and grants to help politicians and their lobbyist its pathetic to have a 5000 page bill full of bullshit.

Wasn't the number like 6 or 7 in a 6 month span?

The wall is painfully fucking stupid. It's been proven not to work, it will cost an absurd amount to build and a disgusting amount to maintain.

They now claim that 12 terrorists were stopped at the southern border in the past year, but when I checked around, I couldn't find anything to substantiate those claims. They initially claimed 4,000 terrorists were stopped at the southern border last year, but Fox news fact checked them that 4,000 supposed terrorists were stopped by TSA, not at the southern border and that's when Huckabee fucking panicked and turned into Paul Revere.

It's not about the initial cost man, it's about the maintenance required to keep it going. Experts estimated it would surpass the 10 Billion dollar proposed by Trump in just 5 years. That's 10+ billion dollars twice a decade on something proven not to work. Of course we spend money on lots of stupid stuff, but a lot of it has good intentions.

Obama:
FY 2011 - $1.229 trillion.
FY 2010 - $1.652 trillion.

Trump:
FY 2019 - $1.225 trillion.
FY 2018 - $1.233 trillion.

Problem with that comparison is that it doesn't take into account the 2.7 trillion in debt that was hidden by the previous administration

https://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/20/us/politics/20budget.html

Also doesn't take into account Obama inheriting the great recession when he came into office. Trump did not inherit a recession, though like Bush, his presidency will probably end with one, as unsustainable tax cuts and uncontrolled spending invariably lead to them. Only question is how bad this next one will be.
