Really? I could have swallowed the rating if the characters actually had a chance to emerge and the source material was more of a focal point.

Hard to delve into a character who's all about primal instinct/fucking shit up with a PG-13 rating.

Of course they could have done better with what they had, but I had serious doubts from the minute they decided to drop the R rating, as I thought it would be impossible for them to do the characters justice. Eddie's character seemed like a half-retarded douche bag for the majority of the movie and Venom/Riot made fuck all sense. After how much shit everyone I know irl talked about it, I expected worse, it was still very bad, just not omfg unwatchable bad.
