I can drive just about anything that isn't jacked up real high, like a lifted truck lol. I just put hand controls in it and off I go.

I want a Chevy Bolt, but we'll see. Might settle for something else, like a Nissan Leaf or VW E-Golf.

The cost of ownership and low-maintenance has me sold. Being green is a little benefit too, especially since my grid is supplied by relatively environmentally friendly nuclear and hydro-electric. Would like to get solar panels installed someday too (basically free energy), but that's down the line.

Being in a wheelchair, I can't change oil or fluids very easily, so that'll save me in the long run. EV's pretty much only require brakes, tires, cabin filter, and washer fluid—I can handle all of that myself except for the tires.

Wish the Tesla 3 was actually produced, but it seems like they're not really producing them seriously, opting instead to produce more expensive models with higher profit margins.

Yeah thats exactly what they're doing right now, we install a lot of those tesla chargers but they are mostly their newer sedan and the SUV's, not that "economic" version they came out with. Have yet to install a charger for the lower end model.

That's something I'll need done when I buy it. Like 1-1.5k for a home charger iirc.

I know some non-certified electricians, but idk if it'd be within their capabilities to install a charger. Might need to call a real electrician.

Honestly, you could damn near do it yourself. It really isn't that bad especially if you're placing it near your panel

I have not looked into how you would install one tbh. Just figured you needed a special high-voltage outlet 240v outlets like what major appliances use.

Yeah but if you look at your panel, there are single pole and double pole breakers, the 2P breakers are all 240 volt, using both phases A and B, the singles are all 120 volt, using just 1 phase (A or B )

Basically you'd buy the charger or get it from tesla or whatever, find out what amperage you want to run, get appropriate wire/breaker size, punch a knockout in bottom of panel, fish wire down, connect it to charger, connect other end to a breaker, install breaker w/ neutral and ground into panel and done

it sounds a lot harder than it really is, if you can youtube it I would also consider doing that depending on the stupid prices someone might try to kill you with

Come to the Midwest and I'll have you sitting on 500+ hp for under 10k

If it's the right time of year, you might even get a "safe" vehicle

Fast n furious didn't have rusty death traps

Id put terps in a little Ford ranger, swap out the 4 banger for the 351 I just picked up(350$ ROFL, and it has EQ heads + a forged bottom end, I don't even know if it runs yet)

Of course I couldn't give him a manual, but I think he'd enjoy the way a power glide shifts(once)
