@gatorboyrb

After 9 years in this whirlwind business they call the NFL, I am proud to announce that I am hanging up my cleats. I've had an amazing run and I appreciate all of the support from the fans through the good and the bad. The New York Giants are a great organization and I am proud to have been a part of it for so long. I love my coaches and my teammates and will miss them as well as the game itself but I am healing well from my surgery and I look forward to running around with my kids for years to come!

:( .... GREAT Giant... great career ... big game player

So far, I just saw some news on giants:

-Mike Sullivan doing interview for OC (bucs OC, Eli ex QB coach)
-Will Beatty had successful leg surgery, no ligaments damage.
-Tom Quinn (special team) and Sean Ryan (QB coach) might be let go.

:D good, I want to see as many staffs change as they can do.

Mike Sullivan.. I still want more options but he's still a upgrade from Gilbride anyway.

On the lookout for a hidden gem, the Giants today announced the signing of five players, including four with NFL experience.

The club signed tight end Daniel Fells, wide receiver Preston Parker, linebacker Spencer Adkins, offensive lineman Troy Kropog and kicker/punter Brandon McManus. Only McManus has not previously played in the NFL.

Fells, 6-foot-3, 366 pounds, is the most experienced of the five players. From 2008 to 2012, he played in 71 regular-season games with 30 starts for St. Louis, Denver and New England. Fells has 92 career receptions for 1,086 yards and eight touchdowns. He also played in three postseason games with two starts – both for Denver in 2011 – and had two receptions for 57 yards.

Parker, 5-11, 197 pounds, played in 27 games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2010-12. He has 44 career receptions for 596 yards (13.5-yard average) with a long of 51 yards and three touchdowns. Parker also returned 30 kickoffs for a 20.6-yard average with a long of 45 yards and 23 punts for a 9.1-yard average with a long of 34 yards. He also had three rushing attempts for 11 yards (including a seven-yarder vs. the Giants on Sept. 16, 2012) and 10 special teams tackles.

Adkins, 5-11, 222 pounds, was a sixth-round draft choice by the Atlanta Falcons in 2009, the 176th overall selection. From 2009-11, he played in 24 regular-season games with one start and was credited with five tackles (three solo) on defense and 10 on special teams. He played in the 2011 NFC Wild Card Game vs. the Giants and had four tackles (three solo).

Kropog, 6-5, 311 pounds, was a fourth-round draft choice, the 135th pick overall, by the Tennessee Titans in 2009. In four seasons with the Titans he played exclusively on special teams in seven games (he did not appear in a game in 2011).

McManus, 6-4, 236 pounds, was signed as a rookie free agent on April 30, 2013 by the Indianapolis Colts who waived him on Aug. 26.

Should be interesting.

More on Loggains

Quote
Dowell Loggains, the offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans for the past two seasons under Mike Munchak, will interview for the Giants job on Wednesday, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.

ESPN first reported Loggains visit.

Just 33, Loggains came to the Titans in 2006 as a coaching assistant after spending a year with the Dallas Cowboys as a scouting assistant.

But his draw might be in the variety of influences he's had in his short -- and quick -- rise in the coaching ranks. Loggains has been able to work alongside Sean Payton, Norm Chow, Mike Heimerdinger and Chris Palmer, who was Tom Coughlin's offensive coordinator for two years in Jacksonville and quarterbacks coach in New York from 2007-09.

Loggains also worked with Tom Moore, Peyton Manning's offensive coordinator in Indianapolis.

The Titans finished 22nd in total offense this season (336.9 yards/game) and 26th (313.1) in 2012.
