Your dad and people on your feed may not be fanatical, but how do they feel about the Mueller investigation? Do they believe that proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that there was massive Russian interference in the election, which led to multiple indictments, arrests, and seizures of assets that paid for the cost of the investigation multiple times over was a "witch hunt" or a "Waste of taxpayer money"? Do they believe that a well documented extortion of a foreign ally was business as usual because a Republican congress up for reelection said it was? Do they feel that Trump kept most his promises or do they still believe he's a Washington outsider? All of the ones I've talked to, even the *mild* ones, believe these things without a moment of hesitation. I personally can't see this being all that different. Trump has this extraordinary power to piss in your face while telling you he's saving your life, and people just believe him.
The normal republicans out there, the good people who have unfortunately allowed misinformation and a snake oil salesmen to sway their opinions over these past four years will eventually stop posting about it al the time, but I don't see Republicans ever fully letting go of it. They will always believe they got cheated here, they just won't be as vocal about it. Only time will tell and hell, Trump could still win, maybe he'll convince the Supreme Court to toss out any votes that weren't counted by midnight on 11/3.
i mean he did appoint what was it the last 3 supreme court justices? or was it 4? idfk that would be total corruption without a doubt though. as for your first paragraph pops voted for hillary in 2016, i again did not vote on presidential but was very active in my community and voted on decriminalizing marijuana and other stuff (dont smoke personally the shit gives me a panic attack but i'm not a fan of crowded jail cells over something that isn't even that addictive tbh, i quit it 5x easier than cigs which i still smoke), and he was pissed about hillary losing and totally would agree with everything you just said.
Dad just doesn't want biden because biden was a part of obama/biden 2008-2012/2012-2016 and they apparently fucked my sisters food stamps and caused her to have to move back in and have him take care of her with his retirement money, along with a big list of other shit that really pissed him off the majority of which escape me at the given moment. with trump being president the last 4 years shit happened which made getting a job easier for her and she was able to move out and his old student loans finally allowed him to lose the debt he had with them and his bills all dropped and gas got way cheaper (even before covid it all dropped immensely) so while he thinks trump is a total fucking sexist trolly dimwit, he was overall happy with his overall situation from trump being president way more than the 8 years of obama he endured after he voted for obama both times and believed in him to a fault.
i tried telling him that a lot of that stuff had more to do with the legislative branch than it had to do with obama but he's a very hard headed 67 yr old man.

I mean, that's clearly not true, since Trump and Biden both broke the all-time voting record this year.... As deplorable as some of us find Trump/Biden, there are that many people out there who believe they've done no wrong and that they're amazing people.
When people legitimately dislike/hate both candidates, you get low turnouts
or you get really high turnouts filled with people that are so strongly against a certain candidate that they feel they have to vote against them to keep them out of office.
