I believe Vernon has been one of the guys from the start. I'd be really surprised if they don't go after him hard.

I would have liked to get Irvin, but it definitely makes a lot more sense to over pay for a young, true pass rushing DE in Vernon and a top CB in Smith/Jenkins. Rather than a SAM backer.

I mean, don't get me wrong. Irvin would have definitely helped. He would have been able to drop down into the LEO position, on 3rd down from time to time. His main spot would have been at the SAM though. We also play in nickel, like 65% of the time and the SAM isn't out there.

Joshua Perry (Ohio State) and Jordan Jenkins (Gerogia) are two very interesting OTTO (name of our SAM backer position) prospects in this draft.
