Idk I find it pretty easy to vote. Never understand the voter suppression angle... at least here, and I’m in a pretty red state.. they send you notices of our polling station weeks out, have lots of mail to remind you to vote and both political parties send me shit in the mail and advertise at roughly the same rate. I’m also registered independent though.
Voter suppression is on the rise since the SC neutered the voting rights act. It's becoming part of the Republican platform, gerrymandering to concentrate and divide blue regions into minority sections of a district, closing polling stations, tossing out ballots for flimsy reasons, purging voter registrations, requiring various forms of ID or permanent addresses. Basically everything Brian Kemp is doing in Georgia. These are all tactics meant to suppress demographics that traditionally vote blue.
Of course, certain states have it better than others. Nevertheless, those of us in other states with fairer voting systems need to elect politicians who will pass legislation to protect the voting rights of people who live in Georgia, Texas, etc.
