The rest are. I watched all of DBZ, loved it as a kid. I never had cable growing up, parents thought it would rot my mind, but I'd go to my friends house across the street and watch it at every chance I got.

I haven't had cable TV my entire adult life so I don't know about shows being garbage these days, but you're right Amazon and Netflix have stepped the competition up. Hulu has had a couple watchable originals too. Even though they are putting out some quality, Netflix has put out some terrible shit lol.

Netflix is just going for numbers. They don't give a fuck how bad the shows are because they know a couple of them will hit, and that's all they need. Ya, it's not a topic I bring up early into hanging out with people. Some people get weirded the fuck out by anime and I get it I guess, there's a lot of bad publicity/memes out there on it, people think it's all T&A or pedophilia type weirdo shit. There's plenty of that garbage, but again, there's plenty of garbage in every genre/style. There's something for everyone in anime though, it really is just a different style of making things, they do comedies, actions, historical pieces, romances, sports etc.... If people gave it a chance, they'd find themselves pleasantly surprised.

In the very first episode of attack on Titan the main character watched his mother get picked up from a building scrap heap, snapped like a twig, and devoured head first by a giant fucking Titan with a sinister grin. Saw somewhere that you just finished season 1? If so, you're in for some good shit lol. The hiatuses have been fucking killing me, but they just wrapped on the first half of season 3, and the second half and supposed conclusion to the show is coming in Spring. So sad I have to wait again, but it's not 2+ fucking years this time like it was the last time. Levi OP

You know which ones I've seen that I base my opinions on. It's the same shit as every other super hero show. Against all odds the super hero wins at the very end.

My favorite thing about Netflix shows are finding out who else I know likes the same ones. Like we just finished Atypical and I fucking loved it and a couple people I know said it was meh. And I love the Ranch and I haven't met anyone else that enjoys it much.

Well shit, I get that then. If you've only watched shonen, it's understandable you'd feel that way. You're limiting yourself in that regard though, it'd be like only watching reality TV and then saying all American made television sucks. It took me awhile before I liked Shonen, DBZ being the exception (only cause I watched it as a kid, DBZ is objectively not a good show, but I love it anyways). Shonen in general isn't good television lol. It's all the same shit. Let me explain my attacks as I'm doing them. Oh, you were holding back your power, I WAS HOLDING BACK MORE POWER. So on and so forth. They're ass, but I still like some of them for the mindless entertainment they provide. I wouldn't call any of them besides HxH and FMAB good shows though, and that's because the writing, character development and everything else was just done well for those two and they don't talk down to their audiences like your typical suppppper popular action shows (Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, Fairytale, DBZ etc..).

If you want to give it a shot, send me a pm and I'll type up a list of shows that don't fall into that one super popular category. Shonen isn't for everyone and it legitimately kills the genre for some people when it's the first thing they try to watch. Not only is a lot of it just mind-numbingly dull, but the shows are fucking ridiculously long. One Piece, the worst of the bunch, is over 800 fucking episodes now.


e: To bring it full circle though, what makes OPM sooooo fucking great, is that all it's doing is making fun of the shonen category and it does it in such a glorious fashion. If you've watched enough of them to know what they're all about, you might want to give OPM a chance, the animation is ridiculously cool on it.
