That is interesting. 10 out of 10 times I go with Lewis > Bolden. We have just way too much company at the RB position though. Not surprised at all that one of them might be walking.
Only 2 more fucking days until the opener. Who else is excited? I've been thinking about this every single day for like two weeks now. I know it's just preseason, but I'm so fucking happy football is back.
dont get me wrong- i love lewis and everything he is capable of. but i'm still gonna stick with keeping bolden over lewis. hopefully i can explain why
we have a cluster fuck of RBs right now, without a real power back. i think its safe to say that white, burkekead and gillissee are locks to make the team. is it unfair? maybe, but thats just waht it is. im pretty sure burkehead got the big contract, maybe it was gilissee, i cant remember. (big as in big for a patriot rb). with bolden and lewis fighting for a 4th spot, i think that boldens contributions on special teams outweigh the limited chances and longevity that lewis offers as rb. lewis is injury prone and not a 4 down back imo, but when he shines, he fucking shines. like staring into an eclipse bright. on the other hand, bolden has been a ST stud for a while now. he is extremely consistent and productive there. without blount, we dont really have a ground and pound style game (and i need a new sig). white essentially plays the kevin faulk role, and i see burkehead taking the short distance role. gillisee or even foster could be similar to a fidgety lewis to a certain extent.
if we didnt sign burkehead and gilissee, i would love to keep lewis. i like lewis better, i just dont think its happening given the current rb depth on our team
