here's the original nj.com article that came out this morning and was linked to his release, actually a good read if you haven't already:

http://www.nj.com/eagles/index.ssf/2014/03/eagles_desean_jackson_off-the-field_troubles.html

as for replacements. i'd expect us to make a move for a fa or two, rather then trade some of our only 6 draft picks to move up and get watkins or evans. lee might fall to us, but realistically we'll be looking at some of less exciting names, beckham, cooks, etc in round 1. of the fa names still available on rotoworlds listings ( http://www.rotoworld.com/articles/nfl/45947/309/2014-nfl-free-agents) i like the idea of bringing avant back, and holmes, britt and rice bring their own issues, but given that they are still unsigned i think they would come cheap. make it happen howie.

Been an eagles fan longer than you have been alive.

im not really concerned about vick leaving with that nigga getting injured all the time...

but losing Djax just weakened this team by a shitload, and if you cant acknowledge that, you are in denial.

I'm 25 years old, so how old are you exactly to have been an Eagles fan longer than I've been alive?

And losing D.Jax does not weaken this team by a "shit load". They're essentially replacing D.Jax with Maclin, and I've been saying for years (as many people have said) that Maclin is a better receiver who is more fit for a #1 role than D.Jax ever was. He's bigger, has better hands, more physical, and a better route runner who of course can catch in traffic. Plus, Maclin is an elite red zone target at WR (something D.Jax is not).

We will miss D.Jax for sure, his speed is something you can't teach for sure. Definitely added a different element to the offense, but everyone knows by now Chip Kelly wants big receivers he made that clear the day he was announced as Eagles head coach. He likes his athletes tall, and strong.

So no, the team won't be worse next season. And assuming we grab one of these big time receivers in the draft, the offense should be even better having a year under their belt, plus Sproles. Plus, the headache is out of the locker room if he was causing that much drama (none of the other players are standing up for him it seems like he was very unpopular in the locker room).

You guys would rather trade up to get Evans instead of Haha?

I know Mike will make this offense 100x more sexy but our safeties are some serious shit. None are solid starters. Wolff injures his knee every week, Nate who has really improved is still not good, Jenkins doesn't appeal me.

Yeah, another safety would be nice lol.

But we know Chip is an offensive mind, he runs primarily 3 WR sets.....

So you know if they're willing to dump a Pro-Bowl talent like D.Jax who just had a big year, that they have something up their sleeve planned for this draft. This draft is deeper at WR more than any other position, whether or not they trade up to get one or take the best available at their position...

For the record - Maclin's percentage of passes caught:

2009 - 64 - 35th in the league - ~12 guys had higher with more chances
2010 - 66 - 24th - outranked all but 5 guys with more looks
2011 - 67 - 22nd - 5 or 6 guys with more looks had higher
2012 - 57.6 - 66th - ~15 guys ahead

So "barely catches half" is a grossly inaccurate statement from somebody who hates every WR/QB on the Eagles and is still salty that Foles was way better than Vick ever was.

lol I ignored that comment from him, as soon as I saw that I was like okay well he's obviously just being a hater.

We know from the last draft, Chip likes to draft BPA rather than need but HaHa is pretty damn talented. I wouldn't mind getting Evans but rather go get HaHa. Wonder what we will do to trade up though.

When is Mike mocked to go?

Projected anywhere from 9th overall to 12th overall.

His stock has risen a lot, he could very well be a top 10 pick.

you have made several claims that Maclin is a better Player than Djax

but you have absolutely no substance to back it up other than its your opinion...

it would only be worse if they drafted a WR IMO

Why would you dump a top 5 player on the team only to replace him with an unproven Late 1st round pick, rather than addressing the teams actual needs

it was infuriating to watch Allen and Chung last year after watching B-Dawk for so long.

but im not sold on HaHa either
