Realistically they'd need to win the rest of their games to have a shot at the playoffs and I think even if they make it in they're secondary will be their undoing. Overall they greatly exceeded my expectations. Schiano did a complete 180 with the run defense which I am very happy with and they struck gold with Doug Martin at the end of the first round in the draft. I think they grab some defensive backs and hopefully a big TE in this upcoming draft which is desperately needed.
As far as the rest of the season is concerned I just want them to not get blown out by the Saints and the Falcons.
EDIT -- I think they win versus the Eagles and the Rams (this could be a good game, actually) and I feel like they'll split the games against the Saints and Falcons, so 9-7 might be possible.
I would have to agree.... like what Schiano has done, overall good job one thing I see he has to do is make some adjustments at halftime too many times this season I have seen teams come out of the half and with them making adjustments they have torn us apart w/ the Bucs and Schiano left without an answer.
I think we are just too young to be in the playoffs although I would love to see it... just doesn't seem right I believe it would be a one and done type of thing and we don't belong there with a secondary like that. Just want them to finish strong :). In the draft I think we should also target a DT Roy Williams has actually played really great in nose position but I believe we need someone else to pair with McCoy or a pass rushing specialistst of some sort our pass rush has been non existant, this could be because of horrible secondary as d line and secondary kind of go hand in hand and when one isn't performing well the other usually doens't either.
