Was looking at the injury list and I just find it interesting they still have Nick Collins on the active roster.

Possible chance for him to come back this season or do you guys think they are just saving that spot for the right time and right person so they don't have to cut somebody if they signed him a week before?

I personally think they are waiting for the right person and right time if there are injuries to a certain spot that needs depth. Looking at the roster, places of needed depth that could cause trouble is OLine and Secondary and possibly DLine but the rest is basically covered.

You've got the right feeling. They have no need to pick somebody up right now, so they haven't rushed in doing so. When the time comes along and they find somebody they like/need, then Collins will be moved to IR. His contract guarantees his salary whether he's on active or IR, so it's not hurting the Packers any to keep him where he is right now.

Secondary only looks a little weak because Collins is out. As far as corners go, if Shields has a turn around from here like he feels he will, I'm more than happy with that. It's obviously tough to replace Cullen Jenkins, and we're still trying to do that. I think we'll finally start seeing Vic So'Oto in obvious passing downs this week. Really not worried about the OLine depth. Newhouse and Sherrod can bounce around if need be, though I do understand the concern with only having 3 backups.

Quote on Rodgers from McCarthy I found interesting -

It’s a progression offense. Once the play is sent in to Aaron, and we align our formation and the defense sets the coverage, there’s a declared starting point for his progression. He’s one of the most disciplined and decisive players I’ve been around since Joe Montana. I always thought that was a tremendous strength of Joe’s, and Aaron has that trait. He’s very diligent going through his progressions, so clearly that is his innate ability. That quality speaks more to his personality and his characteristics. The football structure is the way he’s trained, but I’ve always believed most of the credit should go to the player.

What sources are you guys using for Packers' related news? I've got Vic Ketchman's blog and Tuesdays with McCarthy from packers.com, CheeseHeadTV, and some of the ESPN Milwaukee guys on Twitter. Any good sites I'm missing? Would really like a good podcast or even another blog.

Bulaga, Matthews, Woodson, Quarless, and Driver did not practice today. Zombo and Grant returned today. It's going to be great to finally get Zombo on the field this year, though he's not likely to return this week. Obviously Driver, Clay, and Woodson will be out there. I think Quarless will be too.

Jolly was denied bond. Lol.

I loved Matthews comments about Favre. Rodgers hasn't said anything, but other guys in the locker room said he felt snubbed by it, and CM3 said he feels it will only give Rodgers more fuel, which I love hearing going into a tough road game. My favorite comment from Clay (and mind you I was half asleep when I watched this, so I might misquote him and it's not word-for-word) was, "I guess he [Favre] should be mad at me too since I wasn't there when he played." Haha, awesome.

Rodgers was named NFC Offensive player of the week, but I think we all saw that coming. Doesn't matter who you play, if you put up 440 total yards and 6 TDs, your performance is hard to top.

Goodell said he's okay with the Packers holding another stock sale. I'm one step closer to being a shareholder.

Bulaga officially ruled out. Zombo still out. Quarless doubtful. Jones questionable. Everybody else on the Injury Report listed as probable.

Trent Cole and Julius Peppers have already had field days against the Falcons. Really hope Matthews has a great day against them. We know he's been playing awesome, but I'd like to finally stop seeing people claiim he's having a down year because he doesn't have the sack numbers.
