They offered him 5 yrs 70 million... The richest rb contract in NFL history at the time, which he refused to sign.

They structured it so that the guarantees were lower but it was highly unlikely they paid less than 42 Mil to him before cutting ties

He then refused to sign his franchise tag despite saying all off-season that it would be like last year(implying he'd report just in time for wk 1).

His own teammates have spoken out against him for the way he dicked them over which never happens.

The Steelers can't offer a new contract at this point. The deadline has passed. The only option that gets bell onto the roster is him signing the tag ( which looks more and more like hes going to wait until the last week possible to do it while getting credit for the season.

Now tell me again... Who is dicking who here?

Why'd you fail to mention how he wanted more guaranteed money?

You'll see him week 10 so he can get his 6 games in and not get run into the ground by them

They structured it so that the guarantees were lower than bell wanted, but it was highly unlikely they cut him before they paid out over 40 mill on that deal.

He isn't going to get much more than that guaranteed from anywhere. And if he sits out 8-10 weeks, he missed out on 7-9 million this season anyway.
And I think it's more likely he will show around wk 8 because pgh can put him on the exempt list for 2 weeks (if he waits until wk 10 and they exempt him, he won't hit his game limit for the year to count)

Look at the guaranteed money for the big name RBs.

Gurley Agrees to Four-Year 60 million Extension With Rams That Includes $45 Million Guaranteed

Cardinals RB David Johnson signs 3-year, $39 million contract extension 30 million guaranteed

Steelers offered Bell a total of $70 million over five years with 33 million guaranteed.

33 million is a slap to the face for bell compared to what other guys are getting

They structured it so that yr 1 was guaranteed., but let's be realz they weren't going to sign him to that deal and cut him after yr 1. At least the first 2 years were virtually Locked in (28 mil).

All the other good players that got extensions got way more guaranteed

Look at david johnson and gurleys deal and really think to yourself he won't get more than 33 million guaranteed. The steelers legit low balled him and now to play the feel sorry for me game.

Bell would easily get 50+ million guaranteed with the colts or jets

AFTER the bell situation.

Plus Johnson and Gurley are years younger than bell, have far less wear and tear, and have not had declining averages for the past 2 years.
