Seasoned veteran here, bread, like bread sticks or toast and butter, or something soaks up the alcohol in ur stomach and processes slower, this is true with any food but bread will take on more liquid in the stomach as it enters still mainly dry.Chips are ok but dont soak up as much as bread.
