No point in trading him for less, they would get a 3rd round comp pick out of him at worst once he leaves next year.

Dallas offered a 2nd rounder but Seattle declined. Should have taken it

That's probably what he's worth but it's like having a nice car that experts say is worth 10k but you want 12k for it.

If it sells that's great if it doesn't that's okay too.

Worst case scenario they get a 3rd round comp pick

I can't even bs my way through this one. I'm glad they didn't. Mack is great, but that's just outlandish.

Not really. Cap increases every year over the next several years, and the contacts are written in a way that they're heavy in the first year (starting next year) leaving room to sign Peters and Goff, and really anyone else they can't replace.

It also gives them time to groom the rookies before some veterans leave. They're in good shape.

What are you talking about lol, Donald's, Gurleys, and cooks dumb contract contract are heavily back loaded, you still have to sign Joyner / brockers / peters / suh / talib (guessing talib suh will be gone for obv reasons but lose brockers is my guess so down two linemen)which you will probably lose at least half of them. You're entire offensive line will pretty much be done within 2 years.

Also forgot mark Barron so you're roster is pretty much reset after 2 years

They're not back loaded. The o line will be fine, as the back-up pieces to the players they will lose (Sullivan and Whitworth) are already good enough to start. Brockers won't be going anywhere. Suh and Talib are 1yr players, literally no one is expecting then to stay longer, but pieces are in place to replace them. Barron is going to be gone, but it's no real loss because of deep decline last year and the year before anyway.

Next question?

Long story short, they're ready to compete for several years.
