Earlier in the thread, I shared an article about how resting Brady 4 games next season might help them win the SB. Even if I think there might be some theoretical validity to this idea (it sounds good on paper) I admit it isn't a practical idea. Brady is the leader, he is the guy that says "go again, go hard". Him taking games off would not actually work for the team. Being suspended gives him a pass for not playing, so that was a different situation.

That thought led me to new idea however. What if the Patriots just "self report" their infraction of covering up Brady's concussions that Gisele alluded to? He can get a suspension for that, come back strong and be good to go.

There is another benefit to Brady missing games: it gives the Pats a chance to develop Jimmy as a potential trade asset. If he played 4 good games again next year, we could probably get a high 1st round pick for him.

even if that were true and Brady did have concussion(s) last season that weren't reported, that's NEVER going to happen lol

There's no short term (i.e. 2017) benefit for resting Brady for any reason iMO... Long term? maybe.

The only chance Jimmy G plays this season if brady get's injured or, unlikely though, Brady struggles for multiple weeks (which would just about be injury related anyways).

i don't think so man... he said he wants to play til 45 and it's obvious he stays in top physical shape, if anything is going to slow him down it'll be injury and that's it.

for example, look at Matt Hasselbeck a couple of years ago when he filled in for Luck on a not-so-great team and looked pretty darn good. He is older than Brady... Injury is the only thing that'll slow Brady down right now.

With his new toy (Cooks b) ) and the return of the best TE, Gronk
At least 1 more year seems guaranteed :D

I mean, i'm not saying he won't struggle, but if he does, it'll probably be some injury we may not even know about.

He'll be fine though. I doubt his performance will drop significantly any time soon.
