FA changed a lot of things.  At the time, DT was not one of our top needs--QB, WR, OL, and CB were.  We picked up a QB, a WR, a CB, and several OL.

But you're right, I was adamantly against a DT in the face of greater needs.

You know, you guys keep saying *list of players* or trade down.  What if no one wants to trade up?  It's very very realistic to think that if ATL moves up for Clowney, Jacksonville takes Mack and Cleveland takes Watkins.  What then?  Matthews or Robinson?  I've only heard complaints about those picks as options too.

Everyone wants to trade down in this draft except for the Falcons, Niners and Eagles.  Niners won't realistically jump into the top 5 or 10 even.  Falcons want Clowney and Eagles want Evans so they don't need to trade up with you.  What then?  Carr won't be there in round 2.  Teddy and Manziel are falling fast.  Who do you pick?  OL after all the signings?  Or a great QB prospect (regardless of any personal feelings, he is a great prospect) that would be perfect to sit behind Schaub for a year?

There isn't a QB worth a top 5 (maybe even top 10) pick this year (except for Garoppogod of course) but QBs are QBs and 3 of them will likely go top 10.  If the Raiders drafted Carr at 5, I'd praise the pick, not hate on it.

I agree with everything you said here

also, isn't there like a value-based chart that says what each pick is worth in a trade? Was kind of wondering what it would cost for Balt. to move right ahead of Pittsburgh if Lewan fell.

http://walterfootball.com/draftchart.php

Whenever I do trades I try and get within 200 points of the picks and then call it good.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Teddy went #1 or second round.

As far as the trade, idk if much more is needed, maybe another pick.  I originally had the Niner's third and fifth this year in there too but that seemed a bit overkill.

Bridgewater is still the best QB in this draft. Don't let the media hype fool you, he will be a top 10 pick.

If you recall, I haven't been all that impressed by Teddy from the get go. He hasn't shown me anything to change that opinion.
