Who is that linebacker the Texans signed yesterday? I knew they would bring somebody else in. Just for depth and special teams.

HOUSTON — The Houston Texans have signed free agent linebacker Tim Dobbins.

The 6-foot-1, 246-pound Dobbins was a fifth-round pick by San Diego in 2006. He played four seasons with the Chargers before he was traded to Miami during the 2010 draft. He was cut by the Dolphins last Monday. Dobbins has played in 78 games with 16 starts. He has 196 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions and four forced fumbles. He played in all 16 games last season, including six starts. He finished with 43 tackles and a sack.

At least he played in all 16 games last year. Doesn't seem like the kind of player who has a lot of injuries.

I've got the Texans sweeping the Jaguars this year, home and road. Pretty much agree on the other picks. It would be nice if they're able to pull off a huge upset against the Saints or Steelers the first four weeks of the season. A lot will depend on how fast Wade Phillips can get the defense to be playing at a high level every week. They need to become a top 10 unit.

I'll tell you this much... 9 wins isn't going to be good enough for anything. That may be enough to save Gary Kubiak's job but he should be fired if there is no playoff appearance in 2011. This is his 6th season at head coach. A .500 record (2007 and 2008) or even a 9-7 winning record (2009) isn't going to cut it. Houston fan want results and by that I mean playoffs, not an average team.

His face looks like Ray Lewis and Steve Urkel mixed together. He'll be a backup inside linebacker from what I hear.

LOL, I actually wanted the Jaguars to show up the final game of the regular season. Texans beat Jacksonville, 34-17.

That win cost us a top five pick in the draft and I believe the Jaguars still had a chance to make the playoffs if the Colts had lost their final game.

There was a lot to play for from a Jaguars perspective entering that game.

go on a hot streak and then lose however many games is needed to finish 8-8, that's the JDR way.

they didn't have much to play for after they lost that week 15 game to the Colts. we didn't have our best player on the field for those last 2 games and the Redskins practice squad guys man handled our players like they were high school kids.

even if we fluked our way into the playoffs last year, which wouldn't of happened, we wouldn't of did anything with our best player not playing. so there really wasn't much to play for after losing how they did at the end of last season.

I forgot about Kubiak. LOL, a 5-11 season would have gotten him fired (maybe). He had a good excuse to blame the defensive play and throwing Frank Bush under the bus made sense. Jeff Fisher would have likely been the new head coach hired along with Wade Phillips at defensive coordinator.

I've got a feeling that Fisher will want to come back into coaching if he can get the Houston job at some point in the future. I don't care if the Texans go 10-6 this season, if it doesn't result in a playoff appearance then Kubiak should be gone. It's too early to tell but it seems that the Texans are playing musical chairs at Right Guard with Darius Morris, Mike Brisiel and Antoine Caldwell.

It's good to know that young Morris kid is putting pressure on the other two. Brisiel and Caldwell need to step up. Neither played well at the end of last year. The Texans have a solid offensive line but the one weak spot seems to be Right Guard right now. It's time for somebody to claim the position and never look back.

you would want another mediocre head coach.

Good track record of taking a young team into a bona fide contender, year in and year out. He was viewed as one of the best coaches in the league when he had Steve McNair and Eddie George to build around. Always had one of the best defensive units in the game also. Things got messy in Tennessee over the past few years and not sure I would put the entire blame on him. A head coach like Jeff Fisher would probably take the talent Houston has right now, and get them very far into the playoffs, maybe even a Super Bowl appearance.

This new Andre Johnson mix came out kind of akward. The guy took clips from the Top 100 segment and the music seems a little off.
