I don't think they gave him much of a chance..he barely saw the field..

I thought so too but apparently the beat reporters felt otherwise. Said he had every opportunity to step up and win a starting job or a backup and failed to do so.

Shame because he finally seemed to get it and he was working so hard.... study film like a mad man.... definitely feel bad for him

Herzlich is going to get the axe next, unfortunately he's not even good enough to be a backup anymore. :(

Transcripts: Thomas, Wilson and Rolle

http://corner.bigblueinteractive.com/index.php?mode=2&thread=477873

Rolle said he talked to KP already and said he would love to have him back but it's not up to him.

Even though he's no longer on the team they're still tight... really get the feeling it's a family atmosphere with these guys

Here's a thread I made on the Giants boards about read option QB's:

For those ready to push the panic button consider this...

Another topic I made for those that were getting the chicken little syndrome:

Nicks was incredibly rusty.

He ran the wrote route on one play, couldn't locate an easy TD BOMB into the end zone and couldn't reel in the fade route to the left corner of the end zone.

Now the positives.

Nicks drew 3 pass interference penalties and he caught a one handed 34 yarder along the right side line.

Nicks is taking it easy this pre season, it's clear as day he's waiting for the regular season to play 110%. He's not gong after the ball as aggressively as he normally does. Pretty clear to see.

Victor Cruz didn't even play.
Randle barely got any looks.
Cordle was in at center.

We ran a vanilla offense....... who really likes vanilla? Chocolate & Strawberry is better :)

Paul Dottino with Joe and Evan:

Some really good insight...

Quote
He said that he overheard Nicks telling someone that he's holding back for the preseason...like pacing himself. Hopefully, he can unleash some explosion week 1.
He said he did not expect JPP for week 1. Maybe week 2, definitely for week 3.

Joe and Evan were commenting on how boring the game was, and Dottino said he didn't notice it as much because he's watching certain guys and certain one-on-one match-ups. He cited Bosworth as an example, saying he was so active in the fourth quarter and OT that he took Aaron Curry's job. It was clear that the coaches gave him that extended opportunity to do just that (his words, not mine).

Regarding the offense's woes, he said three realistic things will change the offense dramatically: Cruz, Baas and Hynoski returning. Hynoski, he said, will improve two positions - fullback and blocking TE, because Pascoe is a better blocker as a TE and Myers and Robinson have been terrible blockers in camp.

Also said TT played well, came out of the game healthy and is ready to practice, which means he "locked up" a roster spot.

And Will Hill will be the third safety upon his return. He also knocked Sash.

a few pointers
-said there is no guarantee JPP is ready week 1, week 3 is more realistic
-Nicks has been not going 100%, saving it for week 1
-Cruz is out of the boot according to a tweet today
-Rolle will be ready for week 1
-Hynoski missed sorely in the blocking department so it'ss great to have him back
-TT will most likely make 53 man roster if all goes well thursday night
-Mundy is not great but has NFL experience

Ramses barden back at practice.

No more Cordle at Center.

The exact starting O-line I've been harping about for weeks.
