so the dolphins decided to waive sage rosenfels...fucking dick move.

From the Palm Beach Post: The move comes two days too late for the Houston Texans, who had hoped to sign Rosenfels this week after losing quarterbacks Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart to season-ending injuries. But the Dolphins reportedly refused to release Rosenfels earlier in the week, and the Texans signed Jake Delhomme instead.

So if Houston had better timing, they could have ended up with Donovan McNabb and Sage Rosenfels instead of Jake Delhomme and Kellen Clemens. That's what people will be saying. At least those media outlets outside of Houston. Anything to create some type of story.

we signed clemens a week ago, nothing we can do about it. if sage goes unclaimed, we can sign him on monday. we had to sign a qb on monday, 2 days of practice wouldn't have been enough. if we do get sage, we'll have to cut jake(neither sage or jake will want to be #3 on the depth chart).

but fuck the dolphins. i think the vikings, bears, and titans could get him.

Sage Rosenfels could come in right away and start (potentially). He already knows the offensive system and did a good job in 2006, 2007 and 2008 when he played in a total of 19 games for the Texans. That was when Schaub missed 6 games a couple years in a row.

Got a bad reputation for the helicopter play against the Colts, but prior to that he had played a good game. He was a reliable quarterback who could make all the proper throws downfield. The only problem is his mystery illness? I heard Rosenfels has a rare blood disease or something serious along those lines. Maybe it's not as bad as the reports made it out to be.

I heard Kubiak say a lot of good things about Jake Delhomme after Thursday's practice. I wonder if Yates gets injured or doesn't get the job done if Kubiak will go after McNabb, Rosenfels, (insert name of anybody else) or simply start Delhomme?

Reality is starting to hit me that one of these guys is going to have to step up come playoff time or else it's going to be a quick "one and done". And that isn't what I want for a first-time playoff experience. If they're able to beat Atlanta they can at least afford an extra week to figure out the answer.

9-3 and 6 wins in a row would be huge. They have to find a way to upset the Falcons. It's a home game, the crowd will be loud and the defense has to dominate against a dangerous Falcons offense. You can say that this is going to be the biggest game of the year. A lot of questions need to be answered.

What you mean tonight? It's only Friday. Cougars at 11 AM tomorrow and Texans at 12 noon on Sunday. Can't wait!

So Donovan McNabb cleared waivers? Under NFL rules, Houston can now sign him to a league minimum contract as a free agent if they wanted to. But so far they have no interest. That may change as early as Sunday's game. Another injury or a bad performance by Yates. etc... etc...

Houston needs to get to the playoffs with a reliable quarterback with experience. If Jake Delhomme really is the answer or if T.J. Yates can prove the doubters wrong as a 5th-round rookie, I guess we'lll soon find out. I'd prefer McNabb over Kellen Clemens at the very least.

Well i dont think Mcnabb will come to be a backup so texans will have to make him the starter but i think as long as T.J. does decent it will be ok!!
