Exactly. And u don't see a problem in the fact that we still put out a secondary consisting of hayden as a starter? We just are about to enter week 2 and already it's talk of the draft....fml. Idk ur right tho at this point what else can we really do? I'm no damn professional lol hell I can't even manage my ff teams, right? :D but there's gotta be a move or signing for us to make that's better than hayden being a #1.
Lol fuck it throw some pads on rod and let him make up for haydens slack lol. Just bring extra oxygen to mile high
McGill is really the only other guy worth giving a shot. Carrie is decent but he's not going to be anchoring a solid secondary, and he's the best we've got.
The weakness of our defensive unit is one of the reasons I was appalled at this year's draft. Cooper obviously looks like a good pick, no argument there. But in the 2nd round? And 3rd round? Mario Edwards has looked good, yes, but we knew secondary was going to be a weakness. And why did we draft another TE? We really didn't need one--what we need is help on the coverage side of the defense. Not addressed in any reasonable form either in FA or in the draft, which means we extend ourselves another year down the road of having a shit defense.
We're going to need to kill it in 2016 if we want a shot at the playoffs in 2017.
Yes, the secondary is already shot. We knew that. But that's really the only part of our team that we can count out right now--RB, QB, WR, and most of the front 7 are still units that I'm excited to watch through the season. Growth along those lines will translate directly into winning a lot more games--even if we don't have anyone that can cover for shit. So that's what I'm going to be excited about come week 3 and the Browns.
