T.J. Yates throws some passes during practice on Thursday.LOL, look at Gary Kubiak watching over him like a hawk. I hope he can keep the mistakes to a minimum against the Falcons. It's bad enough Atlanta is coming into Reliant Stadium as a 3-point favorite. It's almost a slap in the face to an 8-3 Texans team playing at home. So many playmakers on this team and I think everybody is automatically focusing on Yates like he has to win or lose the game by himself. In reality, if he can not the turn the ball over I think Houston has a chance to win.
By the way, Donovan McNabb is not coming to Houston? LOLhttp://blog.chron.com/ultimatetexans/2011/12/mcnabb-not-coming-to-the-texans/ESPN is reporting Minnesota quarterback Donovan McNabb will be waived today. For all the Texans fans wondering if they’ll claim him, the answer is no.
They’re set at quarterback, at least for now. They don’t have enough money available under the cap to claim McNabb, who’d cost $1.5 million. They like the threesome they have now.
If McNabb is on the street, and coach Gary Kubiak isn’t happy with one of his backups a couple of weeks from now, who knows, but I don’t see the Texans having any interest in McNabb.
It’s T.J. Yates or bust. Kubiak has made it clear that Yates is the starting quarterback.
