I think there are a lot of keys to this game, but what I'd like too see the most are these 3 things:
1. No missed field goals.
Janikowski has missed a fg in both of our games so far...that's incredibly uncharacteristic of him. I'd love to see him get back on track/in sync with this new holder. Once that is in place we're looking at a lot more winnable games.
2. Pryor's decision making
I think that if Pryor can get out of this game with 1 pick, we're in great shape (especially if it doesn't come inside the opposing 30). If he can become a game manager with his arm and a playmaker with his legs, he can develop into a winning quarterback. But first he has to avoid the type of mistakes that killed us week 1. Great progress in week 2, now if he can keep that learning up we'll be golden.
3. Pressure pressure pressure
Offensively we've done some good things. Defensively, the only thing we have going for us is the ability to stop the run and apply pressure on the quarterback--essentially, our front 7 is pretty solid. If we can get a pass rush going against Manning even for a few drives, it shows that our defense can make the jump next year provided our secondary gets fixed up.
Other things to look for: McFadden's production, WR development, blown coverage in the secondary.
