Times are changing, friend. Even a tin of chew is like 8 bucks in some places. I remember paying 2-2.5 in high school

When I was young I would go to the store with a 20 and come back with a carton of cigarettes for my mom and a soda for myself. It was like 2 bucks a pack. We had a gas station about 2 blocks from our house that I went to like 6 times a day so they didn't even question the cigs. I think back to that shit now and I feel I would lose my kids if I tried that shit

But yea prices are fucking outrageous. Is it really 8 bucks for a tin in Wisconsin? I thought it was crazier here because of all our taxes. South Dakota is under 5 bucks for a pack of cigs still.

I mean, I'm a little bitch now, so I'll pay more for better quality. Like when I smoked last year, I would only smoke American Spirits (which are damn close to $10 a pack). Tins, I only get Skoal pouches because I have to be somewhat discreet at home and at the office. If I wanted bottom of the barrel, I could get cheaper. Much like beer and booze: I did my time as a poor kid trying to get drunk and now I want flavor and convenience. I'll pay more for a better product :)

Packs of Camel 99's are 8.50 ish a pack in washington right now.

I run over to the res in idaho for cartons. Saves me about $4 a pack and I normally buy 4 cartons at a time since it's a 2 ½ hour drive.

Now that's a real commitment to cancer. I get things 1 at a time and make myself believe that I will quit after that purchase.

Well I only smoke ~half a pack a day so they last me forever.

Couple trips a year & it saves ~500 bucks a year probably after gas is accounted for. Haven't done the math though, but if I'm gonna kill myself, I want to do it as cheap as possible.

I like that logic.

Perhaps in a year or so, we can make a bet to see which gives out first: my liver or your lungs.

You haven't kept up on how much I drink?

My liver will definitely go out before my lungs rofl.

What do you drink/how much/how often?

I'm down. I'll make an event page & invite you. We can log our drinking/smoking and see what happens.

I definitely drink A LOT less since I began my career. Bartending had it's perks, for sure, but I'll take a good salary over stealing liquor and beer any day. I drink every day, but only destroy my body on weekends.

I'm at around half a 5th of 90 proof a day. Been going on that same amount now since a little before 2017 started.
If I have a day off, I start drinking around 1 pm or whenever my errands are done, whichever is later and I can down a whole bottle if I eat a meal or two.
Still get up to work everyday & have never been late. I feel a hangover maybe once a month IF that.
