7 is just amazing to me man. Chocobo breeding, the thrill of getting a new color was such a rush. I figured everything out in 7 legit. Chocobos, Knights, beating the weapons, morphing for +stat items, master materia from Red's grandpa, and then all the optional random cool shit scattered throughout the game (Vincent+Lucrecia, going back to Midgar, getting people's ultimate weapons through various crazy shit, Aeirth's final limit, the research papers in shinra mansion, Zac's story and soon much more). It just had everything for me, and even just the games at Gold Saucer + the battle/speed arenas were a blast. I fucking love 7.
Tactics is one I haven't got to play nearly as much as I'd like. I never owned it, so I only ever played ay a buddies house, but I loved it, and I really do want to play it again. 9 was just boring to me, it's by far the easiest, and I'm pretty sure I beat the game at like lvl 55 my first playthrough and when I beat the final boss I remember clearly thinking "is that fucking it?" I was just disappointed, but I still enjoyed the game.
I probably played it way too damn much growing up so that kinda wore that nostalgia effect off, no doubt it's a good/great game though. Think I enjoyed all the side stuff more than the main story.Definitely needed a guide to get the gold chocobo though that shit was a pain to do.
Highly recommend getting Tactics, even if it's on an emulator. Great game that definitely makes you think, loved being able to get/use Cloud as well. Probably in my top 10 games of all time.
I liked 9, but I wouldn't put it in a top list or anything. I personally enjoyed it, although the whole super saiyan tail/trance deal with Zidane and Kuja was incredibly cheesy. I agree though, besides Ozma the game itself didnt have much of a challenge as you were always overleveled for the most part.
