I never saw TFA, but it seems TLJ followed the same path. The callbacks were fantastic for older fans and the attention to detail in some scenes was fantastic. Sadly, I'm a big lore and backstory nerd so this movie struck out in that regard. Plenty of awesome characters were brought back or introduced and promptly killed off without any real chance to leave their mark. Idk. Lot of flaws, but as a casual fan I enjoyed it.



TFA was more or less a carbon copy of ANH. TLJ went in it’s own direction.

Shitty, the first 2 were so fucking perfect. :( Guess I'lll have to play it through and probably buy the deluxe edition so I can play the extra episode with Max when it comes out.
