I wish Arian Foster the best with the Dolphins. He'll always be my favorite running back in this decade.
Hopefully he can stay healthy. It was only a one year deal he signed so not much of a risk for Miami.
If he can give the Dolphins anything close to what Chris Johnson gave Arizona last year it's a great signing.

Now I'm left wondering which team, if any, is going to sign Andre Johnson to a one year deal?
Andre Johnson just turned 35 years old. He's been training hard this summer and is ready to play in 2016.
He's likely going to be the first one signed as soon as a team suffers a key injury to their #1 or #2 wide receiver.

The Houston Texans have moved on with more youth and speed on offense.
It's a new era of Texans football. More focus on explosive plays and quickness.

Bill O'Brien has finally put his blueprint on this team. It's finally "his roster" going into his third season as head coach.

There's no way Watt starts week 1 is there? (Back surgery)

If anyone can do it he can. He hasn't missed a game in five NFL seasons, including five total playoff games.
We won't see him participating in training camp or the preseason. Week 1 versus the Bears on September 11 is his goal.
I'm a little concerned only because he's had a ton of injuries piling up. But he always finds a way to play through the pain.

And also he hinted about an early retirement not too long ago. He turned 27 years old four months ago.
He may not want to beat his body up into his 30's. He has a future in Hollywood (acting) and other fun things.
We are seeing superstars retiring early. Calvin Johnson for example. Watt could also work on Fox, CBS or ESPN.

J.J. Watt could become the next Michael Strahan: Working on the National morning talk-shows one day.
As a Houston Texans fan, we have to really cherish these next three or four seasons. Watt is one of a kind.

The Texans start training camp next week: A week from tomorrow (Saturday). On July 30.

I can't wait to see what type of fantasy football numbers that DeAndre Hopkins can produce in 2016.
Now that he finally has a strong-armed quarterback which can throw the ball deep down the field.

Brock Osweiler has a chance to experience some immediate success because of DeAndre Hopkins' dominance.
Hopkins was producing big stats with several mediocre quarterbacks (seven of them) with weak arms the past two seasons.

DeAndre Hopkins could be a 1600-yard, 15 TD wideout in 2016. It's exciting to think about.
He put up 1521 receiving yards and 11 TDs in 2015 playing with a lot of bad quarterbacks.
It's kind of hard to improve upon those excellent numbers although we should see a slight increase.

Jaelen Strong, Will Fuller and Braxton Miller will add plenty of speed and big-play potential. Cecil Shorts is the veteran of the group and offers a lot of good advise to the younger guys. It's looking like a good group of receivers but the lack of experience concerns me. I expect some rookie mistakes. Strong is entering his second season but he didn't play a lot last season so I tend to look at him no differently than Fuller and Miller.

What hurt this offense last year was the simple fact that Brian Hoyer would rarely sling the ball past 20 yards with any consistent success. A lot of short screens and intermediate routes mostly. That is why I had some high hopes for Ryan Mallett but unfortunately he couldn't keep his head on straight (great arm but a poor work ethic),

With Brock Osweiler I expect a lot of deeper routes that can win games. Opening up the entire field. He'll dink and dunk when necessary, but it's nice to have the option of throwing a deep bomb on any given play. Change the complexion of a game with some big plays on offense. What I like about Brock so far is that he's showing a willingness to learn and grasp Bill O'Brien's playbook. A guy that demands a lot from himself at the quarterback position is something the Texans are lucky to have found.

Who knows what this 2016 season has in store for the Houston Texans. But I feel a lot better about the quarterback position than I have ever felt going into a season with this team. Matt Schaub had a couple of nice seasons here (Pro Bowl MVP one year), but I never felt like he could lead the Houston Texans to a Super Bowl ring. The bigger the game, the more that Matt Schaub would choke and not rise up to the challenge.

At least with Brock Osweiler I'm at least hopeful of this team doing something really great in the future.

People who downgrade Hopkins on their draft boards because of Brock make me laugh. He carried an offense single handedly with far worse at qb.

That being said... All-time Texans. Watt has been the most talented overall, andre Johnson has meant the most to the team, and Arian foster is arguably the best offensive performer in franchise history (at least debatable with Johnson). If Hopkins has a few more years similar to this last season, could he ever surpass Johnson in Texans' eyes or is Johnson almost untouchable because of what he did for the franchise?

All the rookies showed up today and the Texans officially opened up training camp.
They're not practicing (it's raining) but they just checked in and all of that stuff.

All the veterans will report on Saturday. The first practice is scheduled for Sunday morning.

The Texans practice on Sunday is open to the public. From 8:55 AM to 11 AM.
A chance to see Brock Osweiler and DeAndre Hopkins making some plays for the first time.

I'm ready to watch the Texans versus 49ers preseason game on August 14. It's getting closer now.

The first training camp practice for the Texans starts in 3.5 hours but no DeAndre Hopkins.
He decided to hold out because of his contract negotiations. He's still under his rookie contract.

Sigh, I was looking forward to watching Osweiler and Hopkins putting on a show.
This is just the type of distraction this team didn't need with a new quarterback.

Don't get me wrong, Hopkins is deserving of a top paid wideout salary, but the focus right now should be on the team.

With J.J. Watt being injured to this Hopkins holdout. Everything took a bad turn.
Luckily the season is still a month and a half away. September 11 versus the Bears.
