Jake Delhomme at the 2005 Pro Bowl next to Peyton ManningIs Jeff Garcia that bad at 41 years old? He's the guy I wanted other than Favre, of course. Garcia couldn't beat out Kellen Clemens or Jake Delhomme.
I was gone most of the day and came back to this news that I missed from earlier this afternoon. Oh no!!!!!!!

The Texans have agreed Tuesday with veteran quarterback Jake Delhomme.
His agent, Rick Smith, said, “Jake is fired up and ready to go and will do everything he can to support T.J. (Yates).”
The Texans selected Delhomme over Jeff Garcia.
So what now? Yates will start against Atlanta but at some point will Delhomme make any starts if Yates struggles? He's not as good as he used to be but he has the most experience at this point. I remember when he had a few nice years with the Panthers (Super Bowl season included).
Maybe all Delhomme needs is some talent around him like he had in Carolina. There was a time he was flat out good. I know he was horrible with the Browns last season but what quarterback would do well on that team? Even Colt McCoy is getting beat up with that bunch.
Right now the Texans QB depth chart is T.J. Yates, Kellen Clemens and Jake Delhomme. A month ago, I would have been in disbelief if you told me that.
I'll say this much... I'd rather see Delhomme starting instead of Kellen Clemens. So I really hope T.J. Yates can get the job done.
