The Houston Texans can clinch the 2015 AFC South if they beat the Colts and Titans on the road the next two games. Easier said than done, but that would allow them to rest players the final game of the season against the Jaguars in Houston.
That would be the best case scenario at this point; Having a well rested team for a home wild-card game.
It's all in the hands of T.J. Yates. He has a 1-1 playoff record and he was the starting quarterback when the Texans clinched the AFC South division title in 2011. So under the circumstances he's the best quarterback we could possibly play, among the options we have, given his experience of playing in the biggest games.
Believe it or not, winning a game at Indianapolis for the first time in franchise history would mean more to me than making the playoffs. This game on Sunday is a chance to end thirteen long years of frustration. It's hard to accept the fact that the Houston Texans are 0-13 all time at Indianapolis but all of that can change with a good game on Sunday.
As bad as the Texans are perceived around the country (no quarterback, no Arian Foster, they suck, etc... etc...). They're still in position to achieve a lot of big things this year. All of their goals that they set out to accomplish back in training camp, when HBO had featured them on Hard Knocks, are still attainable goals.
