Random question here and was hoping to get FnRs input.

Do you guys consider discussing money stuff as rude or lowbrow on social media outlets?

Couple examples

Buying a new vehicle - stating how much it cost
Going on a trip - Saying how much you spent total on the trip
Discussing wages - Either wages made in a single good day or just talking about how much you earn period

Was having a discussion with the wife about this for standard social dos and don't etc.. and kind of just wanted some more feedback for myself on the subject.

If asked about the price of a car/vacation or my salary or whatever by someone I'm close with, I'll share. Otherwise, I generally will not share.

if you're rich flaunt it, that's my motto

in all seriousness though no, you don't share financial information with people unless it's family or close friends

you should never post a salary on social media (unless it's d2jsp ofc) or talk about the cost of trips/cars

You can? It seemed like you could only deactivate it.

Well at this point I'm just hoping it doesn't reactivate http://sig.grumpybumpers.com/host/ratnose99568.gif

recently, a friend i went to college with began posting on facebook the different houses he was interested in and kept everyone up to date which ones he was putting offers in and the whole process. his friends list is pretty limited to family and close friends, so i don't really think it was a big deal.

depends on your network, your presence and what exactly you're going to be posting. without that information, it's hard to say for sure. my gut says that if you're deliberating this much about it, perhaps it's not a good idea to share

I don't mind discussing most money things with with close friends and family. Posting prices of cars and shit on facebook is fine imo, most numbers like that can be found online anyways and maybe someone could use that information to help them make a purchasing decision. Same idea for trips/vacations too. If some rand flat out was like yeah how much you make buddy I'd probably tell him to fuck himself but other than that I don't really care.
