Thoughts:
Derek Carr did not look good. Inaccurate to begin the game, poor decision making and obviously the atrocious pick 6 that really lost us the game.
Latavius Murray and the ground game could get nothing going. Was Greg Olson our offensive coordinator tonight? Latavius carried the ball 7 times. About 5 of them were straight up the middle. He bounced it outside twice and both of those were better runs.
Cooper looked good. Excited to see his continued growth.
Need to get Crabtree more involved in the offense.
Wtf is with those little bullshit swing pass/screens we did like 15 times tonight? Averaged like 1-2 yards per...
Matt McGloin should be our 2nd string, Ponder 3rd string
I'm not a fan of having TJ Carrie be our punt return. Too important to our secondary to have him be taking huge hits. Plus he's not overwhelmingly good at returning punts lol.
Khalil Mack is a fucking monster. Nothing more needs to be said.
Mario Edwards Jr has had a really good last 2 games after an atrocious game vs the Rams. Hopefully that #1 prospect is still in there somewhere
Our whole DLine was phenomenal really. We've got great rotational units there.
There is NO WAY you can convince me that Ray Ray Armstrong should be starting at WLB over Sio when healthy.
Nate Allen looked great tonight. Ball hawking like a champ.
DJ Hayden looked better in coverage tonight than last week, but still has a problem with getting his head turned when the ball is in the air and with penalties
We should have won that fucking game. No excuse for losing that bull shit. Can't make those same mistakes.
Defense as a whole looked amazing, offense rather lackluster. Given great field position cause of the D and walked away with 5 FG's...........
It's preseason tho, we don't really care about winning xD It's about learning the players.
Pass calling was kind of dumb because we're trying to analyze our RBs and our WRs in space. That's the reason we threw so many swing passes. Just trying to see which of our depth WRs can make players miss.
All in all, I'm not too disappointed with how our passing game looked against a very good Cardinals defense. Yes, it could have been better and probably should have been better, but 2nd year QB, still learning the ropes, huge coaching changes all the time. We're still building and learning. McGloin looked solid.
Rushing game was re-tar-ded though, I think we can all agree on that. Poor play calling and poor execution...I'm not feeling confident at all about our rushing attack after these 3 games. Maybe we'll find more success in the regular season, I dunno. I hope so.
With how good our defense looks, though...I'm excited. And I agree, Sio Moore should be playing. He's really too good to sit. Depth in the front 7 is so good that even when we rotate players in we're really not going to lose a lot of talent, and that's super cool to me.
