DeAndre Hopkins just burned Darrelle Revis for a 61-yard Touchdown.
Unbelievable! It was after a one-handed, 12-yard catch on Revis.

Texans lead 10-3 and it's almost halftime. And the Colts are down to the Falcons too.
The Houston Texans could be all alone in first place at 5-5 in another two hours. Knock on wood.

BB dumped off Revis cuz he knew he was gonna be a bum this season, t4t

It's the Texans fault though. Losing to the Colts at home early in the season.

Also losing to the Chiefs at home back in Week 1. That could hurt them late in the season. Sort of like in 2009. The Texans finished 9-7 just like the Jets but the Jets won the last AFC wild-card spot because they had beaten the Texans in Week 1 that year.

At 5-5 the Texans are behind the Colts and Chiefs in both the division and wild-card race.

The only thing lacking, which is definitely concerning, is the running game. No 60-yard rusher in the past seven games.

Too bad no NFL team has given this guy another chance. He's paid for his mistake.. He could likely help our terrible run game.
He's been working out and keeping in shape. Are those gun shots at the end of the video? Starts at 51 seconds.

But with six games left a lot can still happen. The Texans are playing well in most areas besides rushing on offense.
If we had a reliable running game we'd be a lock for the playoffs. As it is now, we have a fighting chance only.

DeAndre Hopkins is making the one-handed catch look routine. Seems like every game he catches footballs like baseballs.

Three receivers are having a monster year in 2015: Already over 1,000 receiving yards with six games left.

Julio Jones: 89 receptions, 1,189 receiving yards and 6 TDs.
Antonio Brown: 79 receptions, 1,141 receiving yards and 5 TDs.
DeAndre Hopkins: 76 receptions, 1,045 receiving yards and 9 TDs.

DeAndre Hopkins has already tied Andre Johnson's franchise record of 9 TD catches in a season.
He has a chance to surpass Andre Johnson's franchise record of 1,598 receiving yards in a season.

It's going to be tough to pass Julio Jones and Antonio Brown in receptions and receiving yards but he has more TDs.

Going into the off-season, most importantly the 2016 NFL Draft, I think the Texans have to target a quarterback and running back early on (rounds one, two or three). I think T.J. Yates is good enough to compete for the starting job going into next season, but it would be nice if he has to beat out one of those young studs entering the draft. There are going to be at least six or seven quarterbacks in this next draft that I really like as potential franchise players. A few of them are going to slip into the second and third rounds.

We will probably pick in the 15 to 20 range in the first round, That could be a good spot to gamble on a quarterback or running back unless there's a safety too good to pass on. I don't care if we bring Brian Hoyer back (I'd let him go), and Arian Foster, injury prone the past three seasons, could be cut after June 1.

Arian Foster is entering a contract year in 2016 and he isn't going to be worth the money, simply based on production and lack of health, that it would take for the Texans to re-sign him beyond that. Trying to bank on one more great year from Arian Foster in 2016 is fool's gold. He'll just miss most of the season again. For a salary cap hold of $9.3 million dollars it's just not worth the risk for this team.

If the Texans were to release Arian Foster after June 1 they could instantly save $7 million in salary cap space with only $2.3 million in dead money being attached to their salary cap for 2016. He's barely been on the field for two out of the past three seasons so it's not a hard choice to make.

Perhaps the Texans will just keep Arian Foster in 2016 hoping he stays healthy and can allow their young running back to develop at his own pace rather than just giving a rookie 20+ carries a game. But given the financial implications I just touched on it wouldn't make very much sense.

In the mean time, this 5-5 record and push for the playoffs is still very exciting even though we have a big flaw offensively. (No run game).

And truth be told we could use some secondary help. I still feel the Houston Texans have the two worst starting safeties in the league, as we've had for many years now, but we'll probably target a safety in the third or fourth round. Assuming we target a quarterback and running back before that.

I like the future the Houston Texans are heading in whether they make the playoffs or not. It's always fun to make the playoffs though.

Everybody is telling me that DeAndre Hopkins is primed for a 15-catch, 250-yard, 4-TD game against a really horrendous Saints defense on Sunday. A Saints defense that is historically bad and giving up an NFL record in yardage and points per game. But in the NFL games are not played based on your fantasy leagues unfortunately.

I'm not expecting the Houston Texans to blow out the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. I anticipate a really close game.

A stained glass decoration with the Houston Texans logo on it. Perfect for the Holidays.
I'm going to order it on-line. It's going to be my man cave's ultimate showcase piece.

A chance to be 6-5 with a win today. Right in the thick of the AFC playoff race.

Even though they are tied with the Colts for 1st place in the AFC South and tied with the Chiefs for the final AFC wild-card spot, the Texans are still on the outside looking in, because they lost to the Colts and Chiefs (don't own any important tiebreakers).

So the Texans have to win and need the Colts or Chiefs to lose.

It's all house money and for fun anyways.

With Arian Foster out for the season I didn't expect this team to do much. What they're doing on this current winning streak is amazing but they have to make the playoffs to make it count. Otherwise all they have done is greatly ruin their draft positioning. It's kind of tough "just missing the playoffs" like they did last season at 9-7.

Same old Texans. They lift you up with some impressive wins only to break your heart. And they still don't have a franchise quarterback much less a running game on offense. But they have J.J. Watt and that's all you really need!!!!

I think playing the undefeated Panthers and Bengals on the road greatly helped their confidence.
They barely lost 24-17 to the Panthers on the road, after having it tied up 17-17 in the 4th quarter.
And of course they beat the Bengals on the road. They were huge underdogs in both games and competed.

They will need that same fighting spirit when they play the Patriots and at Indianapolis coming down the stretch.

I was expecting a good game today. Drew Brees has always dominated the Texans in the past.
The Texans offense isn't this good is it? Brian Hoyer is back and is looking like Tom Brady out there.
Worst defense in NFL history? 2015 Saints. Already 14-0 Texans but it's early. No game is easy to win.

Finally Drew Brees was sacked by Watt for the first time today.
12.5 sacks for J.J. Watt. Leads the NFL this season.
He needs 7.5 more for an NFL record three 20-sack seasons.

The Texans lead 24-6 midway in the third quarter.

Ryan Griffin, fantasy sleeper at TE: 4 catches for 72 yards and 1 TD so far.
DeAndre Hopkins has been relatively quiet. Only 5 catches for 36 yards.

Running back by committee is what it is: I wish they'd sign Ray Rice! He can't be any worse.
Blue (41 yards), Polk (21 yards) and Grimes (21 yards). All three are splitting carries (6 apiece so far).

The Texans haven't had a RB with 60 yards rushing in the past seven games. If Blue can gain a few big runs he'll get there. It's pretty funny that the Houston Texans may make the playoffs with Brian Hoyer at quarterback and no running game on offense.

Down goes Drew Brees again. Two sacks for J.J. Watt today. 13.5 on the season.
He's coming for Strahan's single-season sack record. He'll average two per game the rest of the way.
And Michael Strahan, as great as he was, never had three seasons with 20 sacks or more.
