Our window to win a Super Bowl is pretty much in the next year or two. We have a lot of old veterans. Andre Johnson isn't much younger than Reed. We have a young defense that could use him for that veteran leadership. Brian Cushing and Ed Reed would give us much more of a boost.

Hopefully Reed gives the Ravens a chance to match the Texans offer.
I would hate to see him leave for a season, then retire.

Ed Reed is in the Texans private jet now. They're probably getting the contract signed.

If he signs, I hope you overpay him like crazy.

I almost think it's better off this way at this point.

I trust john and ozzie. We just won the superbowl. If some of these older guys were sources of beef and dissatisfaction with john then they gotta go.

And if we're cleaning out 4 veterans, we might as well clean em all. What better time to start new with young talent and develop it then the year immediately following a super bowl win.

Take 2 seasons to rebuild, 2 more to get the chemistry, 5th season back to the super bowl

Ed Reed can become the first player since Deion Sanders to win a Super Bowl during consecutive years on different teams.

Or has somebody else done it since Deion did it in 1994 with San Francisco and 1995 with Dallas?

We need to bring in Randy Moss for a visit next. Somebody who isn't going to want "Greg Jennings" type money who can step in and contribute as the number two wide receiver on the opposite side of Andre Johnson. Signing old veterans makes sense at this point.
