Well, after they scored 20 points in the first half and were receiving to start the second half there was some room for optimism. I was disappointed the offense stalled so much in the second half (11 straight third-down conversions failed), but that was to be expected from a conservative gameplan after T.J. Yates entered the game.
Kubiak's playcalling seemed content to let the defense win the game and that's what happened. Hopefully a full week of practice will get things rolling again. I know Yates can sling the ball downfield. The kid has a strong arm and I want to see it come alive against Atlanta's poorly ranked pass defense. You can't expect to grind one out against a good team like Atlanta -- it may work against the Jaguars, Colts and Panthers.
Our Offense just can't score points. Point, Blank, Period. Don't score points, Don't win games.
We may not win another game this year. The Colts game looks the most winnable obviously, but even that is iffy at this point with how our Offense is playing. Bucs maybe?, but that could still be a long shot. Can't really say i'd be too beat up about it though at this point. Never like to see my team lose, but it's definitely bitter sweet to see them lose right now.
