My thoughts:
Derek Carr: looked like the same guy we knew last year, but with more diversified playbook and a better supporting cast. He was too set on throwing to Amari on the goal line when we had trips on the left and Amari solo on the right, and threw an INT as a result. Outside of that he played well. Nice rapport with Crab and Amari it would seem. Can't draw too much from the game as he only played 2 series haha.
Latavius: I LOVE THIS DUDE. He looked great. Best combination of patience/ball carrier vision/athleticism that we've had at the RB position in quite some time. I agree with Omega, the dude is totally primed for a huge year. Hopefully our OC Bill Musgrave can come up with some great schemes to get this guy to have the season he deserves.
Amari: Dude is everything we thought he would be.
Crab: Love the consistency of this guy. He's far from a true #1 receiver in this league but it's hard to feel uneasy with the ball in the air going to this guy. He makes the tough catches and fights for extra yards.
Clive Walford: Made one big tough catch in traffic. Didn't get too much playing time but that's probably because he is coming back from that hamstring injury.
OLine: Looked great. Penn/Gabe J/Rodney Hudson is such a strong left side of the line. The right side is somewhat of an unknown but J'Marcus Webb made some great blocks yesterday.
DLine: Big upgrade from last year. We had 3 sacks in the game and should have had more if not for penalties or an uncalled holding or two. Gotta give credit to our DC Ken Norton Jr. for putting pressure on the QB without all out blitzes. Justin Ellis and Dan Williams will be a force to be reckoned with in the middle of that line. Just two massive dudes.
TJ Carrie: By far our best cornerback. Made some nice plays and did well in coverage in his time in the game.
Ben Heeney: Love this guy's motor. He's a back up linebacker but he's already 10x better than Miles Burris ever was. He was all over the field, was the leading tackler and even had a sack on outside contain when that QB was trying to scramble for the first down.
Overall we played well. Much more disciplined in years past and we definitely executed better than at any point last year. There are definitely some things to work on, like tackling in the open field

but we're on the right track. Obviously this was just the first preseason game so you can't put too much stock into any one thing, but I feel good about what we showed out there.
