I'm not happy with a 3-3 record and two losses in a row but with ten games left there is plenty of football left. It's important for the Texans to start off games a lot better. They trailed the Colts 24-0 and the Cowboys 17-7. They dug themselves into a two and three-score deficit against elite offenses only to fight their way back into both games.

Against the Steelers on the road in a couple of Monday Nights, I want to see a good start and an early Texans lead. They need to play smarter football overall. Ryan Fitzpatrick will probably start against the Steelers even though I'd like to see what Ryan Mallett can do.

Jadeveon Clowney will likely play against the Steelers and be back from his torn meniscus surgery and rehab (bad news for Ben Roethlisberger), and hopefully our defense can start to become a dominating unit. J.J. Watt has played at an MVP caliber level, much less the defensive player of the year, but we still need another beast on defense that can help contain the other side of the field. I believe that Clowney, despite missing the past 5.5 games as a rookie, can eventually become a special player along the lines of what Watt has become.

10 days off is a lot of down time but the team needs it to have everybody back healthy. These next three games before the bye week (at Steelers, at Titans, Eagles) are important games to win if the Texans want to have any chance to make the playoffs. If they can head into the bye week in early November with a 6-3 record and a healthy football team I'm sure every Texans fan would be happy with that.

The most exciting 3-3- team in the league. Do the Nae Nae dance. LOL

I just want to see this team win again!!! We'd be 6-0 if we had a good quarterback.
I'm jealous of all those "contending teams" that have elite quarterbacks. #Frustrated

The Browns are spanking the Steelers 31-3 early in the fourth quarter right now. That's going to be two pissed off 3-3 teams next Monday Night when the Texans play the Steelers. I was worried because it's a road game but the Steelers offensive line is struggling a lot like ours. And with Jadeveon Clowney returning we should be able to generate more than a one man pass rush from J.J. Watt. Of course, it may take Clowney two or three games to shake off the rust of not playing since Week 1.

It should be noted that Andre Johnson has been dealing with what is called bruised buttocks this week.

That women slapped him hard when he jumped into the stands on Thursday Night scoring his 1st TD of the season.

But he's going to be good to go Monday Night at Pittsburgh. John McClain reported he's been getting treatment.

It's just unbelievable. As if we needed more injuries. Andre Johnson is eager to get back on the field after that costly fumble in the fourth quarter. On the Texans second to last possession. That was their most promising drive with a chance to take the lead.

It seems like I've been waiting forever for Monday Night Football. Still six more days of waiting.

Some trade rumors about the Texans offering the Browns a second and third-round pick for Johnny Manziel.
I doubt it will happen but the trading deadline is at 4 PM Eastern on October 28. That's only a few weeks away.

Houston Texans, Quarterback
This 2014 Houston Texans team has a lot of talent on it, with Andre Johnson, Brian Cushing, J.J. Watt and many other big-name players. Unfortunately, they don't have a solid quarterback. In the 2014 NFL Draft, they didn't select a quarterback until the fourth round when they drafted Tom Savage, hardly a franchise pick.

With Brian Hoyer playing great for the Cleveland Browns, could Johnny Manziel be heading to Houston for a second and third-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft? Both teams could win in this potential trade. Why should the Browns keep Manziel around when Hoyer is playing great anyway? The Texans are 3-3 and can still make the playoffs if they get better quarterback play. Ryan Mallett may be worth a look but he isn't a box office hit like Johnny Manziel, who would take over his home state of Texas and be treated like a king there.

Anyways, I think the Browns would be wise to keep Johnny Football. I just want to see what Ryan Mallett can do.

If I had the option of signing JF or Mallet to the same deal, I would choose Mallet every time.

I wouldn't mind giving the Browns a second and third-round pick for Johnny Manziel because the Texans usually blow those picks anyways. In recent years we have failed miserably with our second, third and fourth-round picks.

But like you said I'd like to see what Ryan Mallett can do. I have no confidence in Tom Savage developing fast enough. draino was right about Savage. The kid just isn't any good. He's the third-string quarterback right now and would fail miserably if he had to start games. We should have let him go and kept Case Keenum but Tom Savage is looking like another wasted fourth-round pick.

Still no official word on Jadeveon Clowney's status for Monday Night. Bill O'Brien called it 50-50 earlier in the week. But because it's a Monday Night game we probably won't know anything for certain until Sunday morning. It could even be a game-time decision.

You don't want to rush him back too fast but he was expected to be out 4-to-6 weeks. Monday Night will be exactly six weeks since he had the surgery on his knee. I think Clowney at 70 to 80 % is still better than Whitney Mercilus at 100 %.

Ryan Fitzpatrick will start at quarterback against the Steelers but Ryan Mallett took a few snaps with the first team this week. Seems like Ryan Mallett has had some decent time to learn the playbook. If Fitzpatrick continues to struggle (6 INTs and a 1-3 record in his last 4 games), Bill O'Brien is going to have no choice but to play Ryan Mallett. Before the season slips away. Right now we can still win the final wild-card spot in the AFC.

It's finally Friday. TGIF. Only three more days of waiting!

I sure hope Bill Cowher and Hines Ward are right.
Bill Cowher called the Steelers defense "SOFT" earlier in the week.
And Hines Ward called the Steelers a finesse and soft offense.
