The Texans host the Colts on Thursday Night. I'm hoping it's not another primetime blowout.

I'm excited for Sunday's game against the Cowboys first and foremost.
Two Texans games in four days once Sunday rolls around. I'll take it.

Worst case scenario: Texans are 3-3. Best case scenario: 5-1. Just steal one game: 4-2
Their next game after that will be a Monday Night game at Pittsburgh on October 20 (ESPN)

Either way, that will be two tough games out of the way (11 days off after that) and they'll still be in the AFC wild-card race when Jadeveon Clowney returns against the Steelers on Monday Night. That's all I really wanted. A chance to make the playoffs as the middle of the season approaches.

The Texans still have a bye week left inside their pockets (14 days off in early November), along with some easier looking games towards the end of the season. They are playing the toughest part of their schedule right now with a lot of off days coming up. The Texans should have a fighting chance to make the playoffs if they can keep improving and stay relatively healthy.

I really want the Texans to win the AFC South but the Colts are going to be tough.
The last AFC wild-card spot (6th seed) is a realistic goal coming off a 2-14 season.

Numbers Never Lie's Michael Smith and Jemele Hill debate who has been more valuable through the NFL season's first quarter, Andrew Luck or J.J. Watt.

If we beat the Cowboys, I'd be happy to go 6-10. Fuck the Cowboys, man.

The Texans have injury issues at cornerback going into the Dallas game, but they did get good news on Friday.

Arian Foster is probable, which means he’ll start against the Cowboys barring a setback.
Andre Johnson didn’t practice because of his ankle injury and is listed as questionable.

The problem is at backup cornerback. A.J. Bouye (groin) and Darryl Morris (ankle) are out. They’re the first two corners off the bench.

Rookie Andre Hal is the next man up. Hal, a seventh-round pick from Vanderbilt, made the roster with an outstanding training camp and preseason. He’s excelled on special teams, too.

“He’s improved,” coach Bill O’Brien said after practice today. “He works hard, and he understands the scheme. The way he can improve the most is through experience.”

Andre Hal is going to get a lot of playing experience against the Cowboys. That's asking a lot out of a seventh-round pick but you can't really improve unless you play. Hopefully Andre Johnson will play but we can't afford to "not have him" against the Colts on Thursday night. Losing to Dallas on the road isn't the end of the world if we can beat the Colts on Thursday Night. We'd still be in first place in the AFC South if that happens.

I'm still excited for Sunday's game no matter who is playing. We're going to need Watt, as usual, and Cushing to carry the defense.

The last video I posted. It had an error in coding and was re-uploaded.

I also see the Texans +6.5 on the Vegas line. They started off at +4 and it didn't go up as much as I thought it would. A lot of people feel it's going to be a close game but the oddsmakers are starting to disagree. The Texans have to win the turnover battle to have any chance to win, and their running game must control the clock and keep the Cowboys offense off the field. Arian Foster and Alfred Blue have to come up big.

About nine more hours until kickoff. I can't even sleep. This is a huge game today. A chance to reach 4-1. But yet, the game on Thursday Night against the Colts means a lot more. What if Houston surprises everybody and wins both games and reaches 5-1? Run away with the AFC South early and often. There is nothing to really lose because everybody picked the Colts to win the division. Bill O'Brien will have this team ready to play regardless of who's playing.

Two more days until game time. I've always been a fan of Thursday Night Football every time the Texans are playing.
