Wait wut

Avant is definitely getting cut....

He's owed too much money next season, with a $1M Roster Bonus next year also. There's slim to no chance he'll be on the Eagles, unless they cut him and re-sign him to a new deal.

This. Avant has been great for us but it's time to let him go. He was nothing but a veteran presence this season. He has really declined which is sad to say because he was our #1 go to guy on third downs for a while and had great hands. He's also been a tremendous run blocker. Will miss him no doubt.

I read something about 1 year deal for Maclin. Maclin isn't a hot head like Desean and probably understands the situation well. Would be perfect if we can get him on a one year deal and see what he is capable of doing.

We need to trade us James Casey or something. Dude has been on amber alert for the whole season.

The season is finally over, but what a season it was. Andy Reid was fired, Chip Kelly was hired. Many familiar faces were kicked out, and new not so popular names were brought in. Michael Vick started as our quarterback and then Nick Foles took over and absolutely killed it. We finished with a 10-6 record and won the NFC East by beating Dallas, in Dallas for the final game of the regular season to end their season. Chip Kelly and Nick Foles put the doubters to rest, and now they can only get better with another year.

Chip Kelly's offense was no question a success. LeSean McCoy won the NFL's rushing title breaking multiple Eagles franchise records and Nick Foles finished with the best TD to INT ratio of all-time and the 3rd best QB rating in NFL history. We found out that Riley Cooper will make for one hell of a weapon, and DeSean Jackson was back as the playmaker that we remember.

Defensively we found out, slowly, that we can run the 3-4 defense. Fletcher Cox, Mychel Kendricks, Bennie Logan and Brandon Boykin have one hell of a bright future in the NFL while DeMeco Ryans and Trent Cole continued their long success in this league.

Our biggest weakness this year was our secondary. Brandon Boykin and Bradley Fletcher in my opinion played very well, while Cary Williams was decent at times and terrible at others. Our safeties were awful, even though Nate Allen had a career season. Patrick Chung is trash, while our promising young gun, Earl Wolff couldn't stay healthy.

The first chapter in this new era is over, and there is alot to brag about. The fact that the New Orleans Saints, who are one of the NFL's main powerhouses ended out season isn't anything to get depressed about. The fact that it came to the final 3 seconds proves that we have a team that will have a fighting additude.

We have the NFL Draft and Free Agency to look forward too. We will have a draft pick somewhere in the mid 20's and like always, we will be one of the teams with the biggest bank to add pieces in FA. Jeremy Maclin will return most likely and Nick Foles will mature and learn more, as will Chip Kelly and his staff.

The 2014-2015 season couldn't come soon enough, enjoy the off-season Eagles fans.

Well put, cant wait till we have an elite defense again, and once that happens only the sky is the limit. We know with foles mccoy and kelly were going to put points on the board week in and week out, and as our defense improves as it has been the past year or so, we will easily be an nfc powerhouse and a superbowl contender. Enjoyed the fuck out of this season and looking forward to having success back in philadelphia football. Not disapointed at all the way this season panned out, and its only going to get better. Fly eagles fly.

UFA: Riley Cooper, Jeremy Maclin, Nate Allen, Kurt Coleman, Colt Anderson, Mike Vick, Clifton Geathers, and our punter Donnie Jones.

Resign Cooper and Maclin to hopefully cheap deals. Resign Nate Allen (has been improving and give us depth at Safety) and Kurt can GTFO. I don't know about Colt since he is only a ST player but I like him. I wouldn't mind him. Mike Vick will most likely be looking for a starting gig somewhere else so he can GTFO too. Clifton who? He can GTFO. And resign Donnie Jones.

Players we need to replace. Alex Henery, Damaris Johnson, Patrick Chung, and some other scrubs.

Impressive facts about the Eagles 2013 season

The Eagles have earned 12 playoff appearances and won seven division titles since Jeffrey Lurie took over as the team's owner in 1995. During that span only three teams have more playoff appearances (including just one NFC team): Indianapolis (15), New England (14), and Green Bay (14). Just four teams (one NFC team) have more division titles: New England (13), Green Bay (10), Indianapolis (9), and Pittsburgh (9)

For the season, Nick Foles threw 27 touchdowns and just two interceptions. In doing so, he posted the best TD/INT ratio in NFL history and became the only quarterback to throw over 20 touchdowns and fewer than two interceptions. Foles’ 0.63% interception percentage ranks as the third-lowest in NFL history. Foles is currently the franchise’s all-time leader in QB rating (101.0) and completion percentage (62.5). He also set the single-season franchise mark in completion percentage (64.0).

Foles and McCoy became the first duo in NFL history to lead the league in quarterback rating and rushing yards

With 4,110 passing yards and 2,566 rushing yards in 2013, the Eagles became the second team in NFL history to post 4000+ passing yards and 2400+ rushing yards in one season, joining the 1998 San Francisco 49ers (4256 passing, 2544 rushing).

The Eagles became the first NFL team since the 1991 Buffalo Bills to lead the league in rushing while ranking last in time of possession (26:24)

Chip Kelly is the first rookie head coach in Eagles history to win the division in his first year on the job. Kelly also became the second head coach since the merger to win a division title in his first season on a NFL coaching staff. Barry Switzer also did so in 1994 as the head coach of the Cowboys.

Eagles QB coach to become Lions OC

I would put my money on Chip Kelly having a bigger effect Foles than Bill Lazor lol but hopefully he can have some effect on Stafford

Yes, Ive reached the point of reaching for positives as much as I can in this extremely disappointing coaching hire.

Fun fact: Jeremy Maclin, who missed the entire 2013 season, has caught a TD pass more recently than Hakeem Nicks.

Found that amusing. Nicks future HOF !
