If this game is evidence enough that they'll draft in the secondary high I don't know what will. Run defense was decent but not overwhelming like it has been and the offense was very good, surprisingly. Also, does anybody still think they should look for someone besides Freeman? Dude made big plays when he needed to and made two completions in the endzone in the last 30 seconds although both were overturned for various reasons. I don't think they'll get anyone better from this draft class or free agency and hope they stick with him. I'm liking Underwood although the TD pass he caught today was a wide open shot.

Vincent Jackson is doing much better than I expected him too when they signed him. Dude is an absolute freak of nature (even though he arguably cost them the game by not making it into the endzone on that run). Makes all his other receivers look better and is a reliable target for Freeman.

Some of that tackling in the secondary was downright atrocious. The fact that Eric Wright was completely flipped over the defender without stopping him made me facepalm nice and hard.

Yeah I was furious about his missed tackle, I think he assumed that because Barron was there he was knee-down, but infact he was just getting ready to pwn Wright on national TV <_<

For the most part, I was very happy with Offensive production. I feel our defense (among the FUCKING AWFUL GAME COSTING CALLS) let us down big time. Pass Rush? WHAT PASS RUSH?! At no point did we get penetration, we consistantly wouldn't throw 4 guys at Brees, always 3 which gave some great angles of people double manning the shit outa McCoy.

I must say - it's incredibly refreshing to see the Bucs actually come out and play in the first half. We have done it almost totally consistantly since beginning of the season, and when we can come out and stick 21 points up in the first half - I'm a happy bunny.

I agree Kalmah, we must address our D in the draft. Defensive Back maybe, IMO we need depth at DT and if there's a stud, lets put him in there next to McCoy / Bowers / Clayborne / Bennett / Miller (tis a nice lineup :D )

Schiano also turned a great shade of red, I will paint my door based on his face colour.

Yeah my mate got Vjax in the draft, I traded Ryan Matthews for Doug Martin 3 weeks ago so i'm a happy bunny.

Mate also got MJD and AP aswell xDD

Vjax went into pure beastmode yesterday - 7 catches for 206 yards?! Wtf xD

Good post. What do you think of Schiano thus far? I think this season it was expected to do poorly and I think they've overachieved so far. The offensive coordinator seems to be getting his shit together (maybe it was just the Saints defense making him look good or maybe he just executed very well) and I think they've earned the opportunity to build the team they want through the draft and hopefully they'll be competitive soon. I really want to see them make the postseason with Freeman because I am curious just how he'd do in a really high pressure game like that.

I am very happy with Schiano tbh, he has bought faith back into Tampa Bay - he's bought his no-nonsense swarming attack the ball defense, which i fucking LURVE - and I think he has a great understanding of the game. I am pretty annoyed with the amount of commentators and analysts saying crap like "this is not rutgers - this isn't college - this isn't done in the NFL" - bullcrap. If it's a legal play, it's a legal play and if your team were too ignorant to notice the goal line stance in the middle of the field, or the Dline shifting to bring the Oline offside, then thats your problem. From my understanding, the only reason it was an illegal shift (on that 4th n 1 play) was because the linebacker made the call - if the team had said nothing and shifted anyway, we wouldn't have been penalized. Very annoyed by that play.

I think Schiano has done a great job with the Coaching Staff aswell - I think they are all learning from mistakes that have been made, and certainly from an offensive P.O.V. we are on the up now we have started maximising Vjax/Mike Williams.

We need to start using Nicks/Penn side to run - I really don't understand why we prefer using the right side to run when Nicks is flattening and throwing around Dlineman like a damn toy - saw a great block yesterday where he shoved the guy to the ground, and as Dlineman got up, Nicks was on his ass again and just squished him xDD

Brees was never gonna be shut down yesterday - Like Arog and Manning, he just hits the open guy and consistantly takes care of the ball. I wasn't expecting a blowout, and I wasn't expecting the game to be costed by 2 or 3 really bad calls - but I did expect a close game as usual (I maintain we are as good as the Saints given our current record against them with Freeman (Saints 7 - 6 Bucs ).

McCoy is a beast and makes our entire Defense better. I've been saying it since day 1, he is a stud, he is the re-incarnation of Sapp for us, and I think next year we are gonna be phreaking terrifying on D. McCoy, Bowers, Clayborne, Bennett, Miller, Barron, David, Foster - I drool at the potential of this line.

Rewatched the game - Feel sick again watching the end <_< For the mos part, we were great! DBs couldn't do anything against Brees really, couple of nice deflections - but absolutely no pressure on the Dline gave brees all day, and thats a recipe for disaster.

Doug Martin - Vjax - Freeman - beastmode throughout, although Freeman made some really shit reads, twice directly between a dlineman's eyes <_< Confident going up against the Vikings though. Who's with me?

agree. They should have some confidence against the viks. Viks may overlook the game too.
