People who think league commissioners are like paid employees of the league need to reassess the situation. They dont rule with an iron fist or dictate and if he had suddenly just moved players around without a public assessment in the group chat that would have been way more concerning imo.



Let this be a lesson learned. The way to go is to implement rewards for highest scoring player each week. This means if you are knocked out of the playoffs you still have incentive to set your lineup. In my experience this greatly reduces the amount of people who just give up on managing their team because they got knocked out of playoff contention. Its not an unlikely scenerio that if he did just make the decision and move around players that someone would have opened an SA about that. Next year add high weeks and also a unified agreement about what the action to be taken as to what the commish does in the same situation moving forward.


Unfortunate situation? Yes absoultely, its bm to not set your lineup. Zeal reacted fine tho.

Also, everyone saying Zeal could/should have done something- what would you have him do exactly? The guy had 2 players on his bench hurt, and 2 more that got a total of 5 points, did you really expect him to last min make waiver drop/adds? And then what if those players he drops return from injury and are grabbed by another team in the playoffs? The whole thing gets messy when you do shit like that.

Lol I mean it's over and done with, but like I said... if he had replaced geno with Drew lock who went in for geno. And placed the ppl on his bench into the game, swish still would've won. The whole thing is Def messy and obviously it comes down on swish being held accountable more so than zeal...but in the top tier white collar jsp league...because that's what this is, the prime upperclassmen fantasy league here, I would expect something to be done by the commissioner when he's being told, this dude is clearly being given a playoff spot when half this dudes line up is out.

I know this is resolved now (just read the SA) but lets walk through this bolded suggestion.

1st of all - When did you make this suggestion? After the game (between seattle and 49ers) had started? If so it would be an illegal roster swap and would be reaching by the commissioner to do so.
2nd - Lets assume you (or anyone) makes this suggestion at 9am Sunday morning, then Zeal has to pay attention to Geno's health status all day, Geno wasn't officially ruled out until 1.5 hours before the game started.*

3rd - Lets assume Geno was ruled out on Friday and Zeal does make this change before the game starts and the following week (wk15) Geno plays and throws for 350+ and 4TDS, and someone picks him up for their playoff matchup (WK16 or 17) and wins because of it. Is that fair? Is it what Swish would have done anyway? Maybe, maybe not, and by creating this cause and effect you've done more than just "set a proper line up for someone AFK" - This example could be applied to any of his 4 non playing bench TBH.

4th -You happened to have suggested the only swaps that would have beaten me - which is why looking at the results after the fact will always be skewed. You mention something should have been done -but I think I've proven there's no easy solution. Also no solution was even proposed - did anyone try to email/DM/ smoke signal Swish before Sunday night? Most of the outrage/concern came after the Sunday games had played. No one ever asked Zeal to do anything before the games went that Sunday. No one cared until it mattered. That's what is relevant here. By the time Chris started bitching about this on Sunday night, the only LEGAL move that could have been made was to swap out Watson with another WR playing on Monday.

I informed zeal of the situation before sundays games... is the point... and had he put the ppl on his bench even tho it was a collective of like 4 points... any other qb he wouldve put in most likely wouldve beat you... plus he still had one more position that was out that still needed to be waivered out even with 2 benches etc. but regardless just replacing the qb and putting his shitty bench in wouldve beat you is the point. He also couldve put in devito for mondays game, etc and you still wouldve lost. i was just using the geno lock replacement cause it made the most sense. I didn't even know a commish could change a line up until chris started bitching or I would've made the suggestion. obviously it was the last round of the reg season... so i doubt swish wouldnt of cared if he lost geno lol as he was fighting for nothinbg. and yes I tried to pm swish and tried to actively ask if anyone knew him outside jsp to fix his line up before sundays games. and had zeal actually had to make a replacement... i mean switching it a hour or 30mins before sundays game shoudlve been the play to give swish the time to maybe come back.. but its a toss up.
