Khalil has spent a good amount of time practicing with the defensive line unit so far in camp.

Something we thought may have happened. They're definitely running simple jack's typical 4-3 yea?

That's what it looks like so far. To be fair, Oakland has always been 4-3.

Well I meant more as far as his typical 4-3, soft zone coverage scheme. He always preached and ran a bend, but don't break defense during his days in Jacksonville. Play soft zones, keep everything in front of you and lock it down once they hit the red zone to force field goals.

He liked playing his corners off and didn't press too much. Seem to be similar so far for you guys? Obviously it's still very early and you'll get more of a feel for it as camp and the preseason goes on.

His defense was always good about limiting the big plays, but the problem with the soft zones is that a great QB will dink and dunk it down the field all day long. They'll eat that shit up all day long.

Hm that's very different from our traditional scheme because Oakland is famous for the bump and run coverage under Al Davis. But obviously he's gone and that could very well change. Our DC, Ken Norton Jr. from Seattle, has also mentioned press coverage as well when talking scheme. Hopefully we don't see lots of soft zone coverage this year, because that shit is incredibly frustrating.
