Moore is going to be nasty - I think I may have underestimated you guys in the defensive ranking threads, lol.

I honestly think everyone is underestimating our entire team based off last season which is foolish.

We upgraded a lot of areas, specifically the defense.

We beefed up the interior of the D-line with Hankins and added another talented DE in Moore.

Our O-line is going to be improved with Pugh at RT and a healthy Chris Snee. I still don't like David Baas but he's out center. Would of liked an upgrade there.

Our D-line is going to be stacked beyond belief. JPP will move back full time to to RDE with Osi gone and Kiwi is back on the line again

DE: JPP, Tuck, Kiwi, Moore, Trattou(supposed to be a young Osi), Ojomo

DT: Joseph, Jenkins, Hankins, Patterson, Austin, Kuhn(will start on PUP)

LBers will still be a work in progress but there's talent there.

Jacquian Williams is a stud will play WILL, signed Dan Connor who adds toughness and sound tackling, resigned Keith Rivers hopefully he can stay healthy, Herzlich looking like the frontrunner for MIKE, Aaron Curry low risk high reward signing, Spencer Paysinger likely play SAM.

Giants' Running Backs Making A Good Impression

http://insidefootball.com/blog/archives/6246

Quote
Excerpt: "A day after Ahmad Bradshaw signed with the Indianapolis Colts, coach Tom Coughlin gave praise to the current members of the Giants backfield. The young group of runners is looking to collectively replace the toughness, leadership, and production that Bradshaw brought to two Super Bowl runs.

Coughlin seemed particularly impressed by rookie Michal Cox, who was the Giants seventh round pick in this year’s draft. He said of Cox, “The young kid continues to do some good things,” which is a huge compliment as far as Coughlin goes.

Cox (6’, 220lbs) is similar in stature to Andre Brown (6’, 227lbs) but has comparable shiftiness and cutting ability to David Wilson, though Wilson is much more explosive. Cox also stacks up well against Da’Rell Scott, who is smaller and more of a straight-line runner, whereas Cox has shown all through camp that he can create holes for himself and set up his blockers better. If Michael Cox continues to impress, he can definitely grab the third tailback roster spot that is up for grabs right now.

As for those who occupy the first two tailback spot, Wilson and Brown has shown Coughlin consistency. “Between Andre and David,” Coughlin said, “we’ve had good days pretty consistently.”

One tangible aspect Bradshaw brought to the lineup that Wilson and Brown have yet to show is the ability to pass protect on all downs, but David Wilson is ready to show that he is more than capable of doing that job. “I can’t wait to go out and prove myself. The pass blocking is something I’ve improved on and I am excited to go out and show it,” Wilson explained."

Mark Herzlich on Fast Track to Become New York Giants’ Starting MLB

This is his opportunity to grab the starting job by the balls and run with it.

I'm not ready to give up on this guy... he beat cancer and it's been a slow recovery back but I believe he can get back to the player he was in college, it's just taken him a lot longer

I respect him more now.

Cruz's Tactical Error

Quote
Cruz's approach to restricted free agency might have been counterproductive to signing a new contract. He reportedly instructed Condon not to solicit offers from other teams during the 39-day restricted free-agent signing period because he wants to stay in New York. An agent works for his client, not the other way around, so it's his or her job to execute the client's wishes. Nonetheless, Condon might have been frustrated by Cruz's constraints.

It's conceivable that Condon, one the most prominent football agents, could have gotten another team to bring Cruz in for a visit despite the first-round pick compensation for successfully signing Cruz to use as leverage against the Giants. Knowledge of another team's interest could have spurred the Giants to increase their offer to Cruz. If the Giants didn't make a pre-emptive strike to stop the visit, Condon could have communicated any verbal contract parameters or offers to the Giants given Cruz's preference. The potential of losing Cruz through an offer sheet might have broken the impasse. For example, restricted free agent Steve McLendon signed a three year, $7.25 million deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers the day after visiting the Green Bay Packers.

Don't understand why he's still not signed then.

Just a matter of time but now he's missing vital camp time...

Giants Speak With Agent For Vonta Leach

http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2...nta_leach.html

Quote
Excerpt: "The Giants officially spoke with the agent for fullback Vonta Leach Wednesday night and expressed an interest in the Pro Bowler but said cap restraints would limit what they could offer him.

The club said it would monitor Leach’s situation and if there were any way they could make a deal work under the salary cap they would be open to discuss it, Leach's agent, Ralph Vitolo, told The Star-Ledger this morning.

Leach, who was released by the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday, visited the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday and departed without signing a contract. As many as seven teams have expressed interest in him and he and Vitolo are expected to weigh their options in the coming days.

The Dolphins and Houston Texans appear to be the frontrunners to sign Leach. While the Giants are only $3 million under the salary cap, the Dolphins are reportedly $17 million under the cap.

Amukamara aims to be best corner in NFL

Quote
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The Giants defense is aiming to make a major comeback in 2013. And cornerback Prince Amukamara plans to be a big part of it.

"I really want to be the No. 1 corner on this team, and I feel like right now Corey [Webster] is, and my goal is to always just try to beat him out," Amukamara said Thursday, after the team's last official practice before training camp in late July. "And I think as soon as I establish myself as the No. 1 corner [on the team], then hopefully just become the No. 1 corner in the whole league."

That last part is certainly a lofty goal. But Amukamara -- the team's first-round draft pick, 19th overall, in 2011 -- did enter the NFL with great expectations. And he feels very good after going through a full offseason program for the first time since joining the Giants, thanks to the lockout in 2011 and injuries in 2012.

"This was huge, getting those reps that I didn't get last year," Amukamara said. "I'm an athlete where I have to actually be in it to learn, rather than read and write it out."

Defensive coordinator Perry Fewell has been impressed by Amukamara's performance over the past few weeks. "His skill set is much improved," Fewell said Thursday. "I see a nice confidence in him right now."

That's a big feat to accomplish but I love the confidence on his part. He made big strides last year let's see how much he can improve this season.

Kevin Gilbride's glowing praise of WR Rueben Randle's new "professionalism" and play.

Quote
"Rueben emerged from a guy that shows flashes at times, always caught the ball well, but maybe didn’t always run the routes as precisely, as crisply as you wanted, who didn’t have quite the understanding you wanted. (Now) he looks like a guy that’s been here five or six years. He really benefitted from the opportunity. His whole demeanor, his whole professionalism was outstanding.

"Now, is that because (Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz) weren’t here or just because he got more reps? I don’t know. But he certainly stepped into a leadership role. Not only did he grow, he became the bell cow of this receiving corps. He was first in line and did all those things. That was not what we saw last year – not by a longshot. So to see him grow like that was a great step forward for him, which will help us down the road."

Great to hear... Randle is going to set the league on fire

This receiving corps is going to be ridiculous if we could just stay healthy........
