Although I still think Hightower is too vital to just let walk away.



I'm taking Hightower over Gronk tbh.

I know this goes against what I said about Gronk being the most important piece to success, but as J just said, they've proved me wrong before, and that's what they did this season.



We have the cap to pay him.

He probably wants like 13+ a year in NE. 10 was probably the best offer we will give.

I said it earlier though, without Hightower, we possibly could have lost both these two recent SB's we were in (XLIX & LI), He had TD saving tackle on Marshawn Lynch (before the Butler Int) in XLIX, and the strip-sack on Matt Ryan that really turned things around in LI.

He has no chance of staying if he's looking for top money. He's not going to be on this team making more than Brady.

Brady's cap hit is 14 million this year

we can afford to pay him 13-15

why wouldn't we lock a player of his caliber down?

Because that's not what NE does..... They expect people to play for less than what they can get on the open market (usually significantly less), it's the price of staying with a team that's literally a contender every single year. Once again, I have disagreed heavily with them in the past on this tactic, but it seems to work, so fuck it.
