The Patriots won’t go into Sunday’s game with the Titans with two running backs after all.
According to a source, the Patriots will promote rookie fullback Joey Iosefa from the practice squad to the active 53-man roster for Sunday’s game against the Titans. The team still needs to make a corresponding move to make room for him.
The news was first reported by NESN’s Doug Kyed.
Iosefa is a Hawaii product, where he ran for 21 touchdowns and caught three more during his four seasons there. He was drafted by the Buccaneers in the seventh-round of this year’s draft, but was released at the end of training camp. He’s been on the Patriots’ practice squad since October 21.
This means running back Montee Ball will not be added to the active roster, after being signed to the practice squad this week.

Guess we like a rookie 7th rounder over former 2nd rounder Montee Ball, strange. My guess is probably a size difference, Iosefa is 6' 245 lbs vs Montee Ball's vs 5'10" 215 lbs., (pretty much identical size to James white)
BB must have full confidence in James White as a 3rd down pass catching back
