Clowney?

He didn't look bad considering the rust and coning off the sports hernia surgery. He was burned in pass coverage but looked stout against the run. He just missed a sack on the first two drives as well. I thought Watt looked good. Clowney looked okay. We need Cushing to play at a high level to clean up everything in the middle of the field. He didn't play tonight and he's the captain of the defense.

We have to be patient and hopefully by Week 1 he'll be moving around even quicker. Clowney at 70 % healthy and a rookie is still good enough to play in the NFL but he can't pass cover as an outside linebacker that well right now. It's a combination of his inexperience at the position and his hesitance to test that groin. You can tell he was holding back on some plays. When he was aggressive Clowney lit up the Cardinals' running back in the backfield.

This is the time you want to play poorly. I hope we go 0-4 in the preseason and lose every game 32-0
Head into the Week 1 opener against the Redskins on an 18-game losing streak. All the more hungry to win.

My only concern is the quarterback situation. Ryan Fitzpatrick should be a backup on any team in the NFL. He looked horrible tonight and played the entire first half. All he had to do was play smart and the Texans would have kicked two field goals. Instead he threw two interceptions on a couple of promising drives inside the Cardinals territory. One right before the half ended. At least he didn't throw a pick six like Matt Schaub would have done.

Like I've said the whole time... You guys are going to need all the Defense you can get when you average 6 points a game lmao

We couldn't even cash in those six points tonight. Costly turnovers when in field goal range.

Chad Henne is straight garbage and shouldn't be anywhere near a starting QB... However, he's miles ahead of anybody you guys got as a QB. Which is pretty sad my friend.

I was disappointed when the Texans weren't fast enough to sign Chad Henne, or even Matt Cassell, during this past free agency. Both of them re-signed and elected to stay where they were. Ryan Fitzpatrick was the last option available at that point. Honestly, we could probably do better with Vince Young or Tim Tebow. They didn't even try and trade for Ryan Mallett despite the rumors leading up to the draft. I still believe we can win some games with Case Keenum but only if everybody is healthy.

Week 1 the Texans will have everybody on the field. Arian Foster, Andre Johnson and Brian Cushing.

None of the three are likely to play at all in the preseason. They didn't tonight.. Without all three we're just not any good.
