Really?  Can you really say that?

I would agree with lack of WR... but defense... you are nuts.

Our biggest problems was our offense by far.  Stafford struggled hard.  He needs weapons.  Our defense maybe lost us ~3 games last year (if that).  Our offense lost the other 6.

Come on man. Obviously Stafford chunked it a few times. But you are lying to yourself if you can honestly say that our secondary is even mediocre.

Pierre Desir is inexplicably still on the board, if we grab him I would be thrilled

Our corners had 2 ints all last season - both by Chris Houston.

If we don't spend either of our 4th rounders on a secondary player I will be upset.

Here is the thing. Our 4th rounder CB isn't going to be better. He is going to be what we have now. He will share time with Bently / Slay. CBs take time to develop, they won't be a big impact this year.

And here.... these are the games we lost last year. Tell me where I am wrong.

You think the DEFENSE lost more than 3 games last year?  I would actually disagree.  After going through the games I can only see 2 that they lost us...
Edit:  Bolded games are the one's I am giving you

Games we lost:

Week 2 - Arizona  --> Lost this game 21 to 25.  Lions lost TOS 28:41 - 31:19.  Lions held rushing to under 100 yards.  However, one of our TDs was scored by a pick 6.  Also, Stafford fumbled the ball.  Our offense only scored 14 points.  We were 3/11 on 3rd down attempts.  Arizona was 1/11.  Our defense held them on 3rd down but our offense could not score.

Week 5 - Green Bay  --> We lost 9 to 22.  Lions lost TOS 27:41 - 32:19.  Lions held Eddie Lacy under 100 yards.  Lions and Packers had fairly equal 3rd down attempts (7/15 to 7/16).  However this game is this simple.  Green Bay (one of the most potent offenses in the league) had a bad game.  Our defense held them to 22 points.  GB was 0-2 in the redzone.  They only allowed ONE touchdown to Aaron rodgers.  The rest were all FGs.  But our offense once again did nothing.  Calvin was out this game, but this was the first time it was apparent that without him we couldn't do anything.

Week 7 - Cincinnati

Week 11 - Pittsburg --> We lost 27 to 37.  Lions lost TOS 27:44 - 32:16.  Our defense held their rush game to under 100 yards.  Both the lions and the Steelers were 6/16 on 3rd down attempts.  However, there were 2 fumbles and and interception that kept our defense on the field.  Pretty hard to win when your offense / ST turns the ball over 3 times.

Week 12 - Tampa Bay -->  We lost 24 to 21.  Lions dominated TOS 33:22 - 26:38.  We dominated in yards, too.  Lions held TB rushing game under 100 yards again.  Lions defense had 4 sacks.  But the lions offense turned the ball over 5 times.  5.  You cannot win a game when you turn the ball over 5 times.

Week 14 - Philly  --> Although LeSean McCoy destroyed our defense in the 4th quarter... 3 fumbles did not help our cause.  Tbh, I'll blame our "defense" for this one, but I really blame coaching for not being able to adjust.

Week 15 - Baltimore  -->  Not even going into the stats of this game.  Our defense dominated this game.  The Ravens never scored a TD.  If our offense cannot win when the other team doesn't get a TD....  (Ok one stat to go with this one... Stafford had 3 picks)

Week 16 - Giants  -->  We lost 23 - 20 in OT.  We destroyed them in TOS 37:45 - 29:43.  Tell me how your offense only scored 2 touch downs when they have the ball 37 minutes of the game.  Our defense got a pick and a fumble... however, naturally our offense also had 3 turnovers.  Fairly also got us a safety.

Week 17 - Vikings  -->  We lost 14 to 13.  We won TOS 32:37 - 27:23.  However we could only score 1 TD.  Once again Megatron wasn't in the game... and our offense showed how much it hurt because of it.  Our defense even got 2 turnovers that game and we were unable to do anything with them.

Dat TD catch at 0:42

I hope this guy ends up being a beast lol

That one handed catch that he made with the ball thrown behind him was awesome. He's got some good speed too.

Now that Desir is gone(Fuck you Cleveland for taking all the corners) might as well draft a receiver and a kicker

ttwentyman: I expect the #Lions to take CB Nevin Lawson (Utah State) here. 5-9, 190 and physical. 4.48 40 at Combine.
ttwentyman: He’s a man-cover cornerback who was productive on the ball – 34 pass breakups in college.

STRENGTHS: While shorter than ideal, Lawson sports a compact, athletic frame with very good agility, fluid hips and the speed to turn and run with receivers. Very physical defender, especially as an open-field tackler, where he quickly closes on the ball-carrier and strikes them at the hips, encircling his arms and wrenching them to the ground emphatically.
Often asked to line up inside, showing the spatial awareness to handle playing the nickel and not relying on the sideline to protect himself. Highly confident defender, who varies his approach in man coverage, alternately punching the receiver to get a quality jam to impede their release or turning to run with them, demonstrating quick feet and a seamless turning motion. Good awareness in zone coverage.

Keeps his eyes peeled on the quarterback when in zone and breaks on the ball quickly. Times his arrival with the ball, showing the hand-eye coordination to break up passes, as well as developing ball-skills to pull off the interception.

WEAKNESSES: Obvious size concerns and won't fit in every scheme. Times his leaps well but will lose out to bigger receivers on jump-balls. Wraps his arms securely but is forced to 'wrassle' opponents to the ground because of his size. Improved ball-skills in 2013 but does not possess ideal hands for the interception, picking off just six of 37 passes defensed over the past three seasons.

STRENGTHS Muscular build with nice arm length. Plays with his eyes. Reads and reacts quickly. Has skills to man up receivers. Soft-footed with flexible hips to pedal easily and transition smoothly. Good zone awareness and reactions. Productive on the ball. Effective blitzer. Has special-teams experience as a gunner and jammer. Durable three-year starter. Has matured and taken a more professional approach as an upperclassman.

WEAKNESSES Press technique needs refinement. Too often allows free release. Clutching, grabbing and incurring flags have been issues in the past. Ball skills are a work in progress. Leaves some production on the field. Inconsistent run supporter. Struggled to contain USC WR Marqise Lee.
