damn 6.5 mill on ivory? u guys cray

look at the contracts of the other RBs being signed.. Martin/Miller/Murray. All in that 6-7 mil range.

Yeldon and Ivory are a real deal 1-2 punch duo.

We're also cutting Gerhart tomorrow and gaining 3.5 mil back on our cap. That's basically getting Ivory at 3 mil this season.

So, as of now we've signed..

DT/DE Malik Jackson. Kargus especially lovin this pick up. He can play pretty much anywhere along our front 4. only 26 years old.

FS Tashaun Gipson. Finally got our single high, ball hawking FS. 25 years old.

RB Chris Ivory. He'll be the grinder. Short yardage, goal line, end of games with a lead (hopefully). Yeldon and him make for a very solid 1-2 punch.

TE Marcedes Lewis. Still a good blocker with a little bit of catching ability. Julius is obviously the man still. Nice to see him finish out his career in Jacksonville.

Punter Brad Nortman. The biggest signing of the bunch. Nothing else really needs to be said on the matter.

Bringing in Robert Ayers and Prince Amukamara on visits. Hopefully we can land them.

Ayers would be an average stop gap behind Fowler, for a year or two. He'd definitely be an upgrade over Chris Clemons and Andre Branch.

Prince would instantly compete for the RCB spot.

Both would be much needed signings at this point, but we'd still need another edge rusher and CB. Bosa at #5 and a CB in the draft ideally.

Let's look at NFL.com's rankings of our FA guys:

Malik Jackson: ranked #1 overall, #1 Defensive Lineman
Prince Amukamara: #20 overall, #3 Cornerback.
Chris Ivory: #33 overall, #5 Running Back
Tashaun Gipson: #40 Overall, #3 Free Safety
Brad Nortman: Unranked
Mackenzy Bernadeau: Unranked

Prince is a solid signing on a 1 year, prove it type deal. Would have liked to see it be a 2 year deal, but it's not bad either way. Instant competition at the RCB and he'll most likely win the job. We'll still draft a CB in the top 4 rounds I'm sure.

Not getting Ayers, it's looking more and more like we'll be relying on just 2 rookie LEO edge rushers this season. Not ideal at all, but at least our interior DL will be much improved. Our LEOs should see plenty of 1 on 1.

Jags winning the AFC South, you guys already have a good offense with Bortles, Robinson and a great RB-duo in Yeldon and the beast Ivory, although I really don't follow your Oline. You guys solidified the defense through FA and the AFC South is a joke. I wonder what the odds are for the Jags winning the AFC South next season.

I'd like to see at least one Florida team doing well for once, even if it isn't the Dolphins.

The Offense was borderline playoff caliber last season, we just had a god awful Defense, who could never get off the field on 3rd down. Our biggest needs on Defense, were Pass Rusher and FS. We got another beast in Malik Jackson, but didn't get our edge rusher. Edge rush is still a huge need, because we can't expect Fowler to man the spot alone. We did finally get our FS though.

Our OL is pretty much set, but we need another Center/Guard. We have two, very good young OGs, in Linder and Cann, but somebody has to play Center. There's been talk about one of them moving to Center, but I'd rather leave them at OG and get a Center. Ryan Kelly out of Alabama would be the perfect pick in round 2. He's a plug and play C from day 1. Him at C, Linder and Cann at OG, we'd be very stout on the interior OL, for many years to come.

Jeremy Parnell and Luke Joeckel are our OTs. Joeckel hasn't really lived up to his 2nd overall pick status, but he's an average-above average LT. He could be upgraded, but solid LTs don't grow on trees. There's no need to run him out of the building. He gave up 7 sacks last season and 5 of them came against Houston, in the last game of the season. 2 Sacks in the other 15 games, not too bad at all.

Parnell played very well before he got injured. He's locked into the RT spot.

As long as the Offense doesn't take a huge step backwards and the Defense can just be average. There's no reason this team shouldn't be able to hit 8-8 and make a strong push for winning the Division.

Why Bosa? I see them taking Myles Jack.

Was more sarcasm than anything, but it pretty much hits home.

Any one of Bosa, Jack or Ramsey, still look like the pick. I'd love Jack, have for a long time and still do. Our hands are getting pretty forced right now though, as far as the LEO position is concerned. Bosa isn't the ideal LEO build/measurables, but he can play.

They've talked about moving Fowler all around and playing him in multiple spots. Bosa isn't the freak edge guy, but he can play outside and inside. Fowler played inside, outside and LB at Florida. Malik Jackson can play inside and outside. Marks, if healthy, can be a force on the inside. Odrick can play inside and outside. That's not a bad little core on the DL to build around.

Ideally, we take Jack and somebody like Shaq Lawson, Emmanuel Ogbah or Noah Spence is still there in the 2nd round. We got to snag a Center/Guard in the 2nd, or 3rd round though. Maybe Spence will still be there in the 3rd round.

Point is, we've got to get another edge type guy.
